Friendly, helpful staff. Nice comfortable beds and clean rooms. Great wifi.

I stayed here 3 years ago. It was absolutely the most horrible experience I have EVER had at a hotel. The owner was extremely rude and I have never been talked to by anyone in my life like this man did. From the moment we for there he was rude. He had me crying. He was an Indian man and his wife wouldn't even take up for me when he was being so verbally abusive because obviously she was scared of him. He told me he didn't like children staying there because of how messy they were. He made me vacuum up crumbs. The room was NOT messy when we left. I was cleaning my car out the next morning and he went NUTS. He said I was so nasty and that he was going to call the law if I didn't get the mess cleaned up. He said he didn't want his parking lot looking junky..The night before, workers who were renovating the back part were passed out and drinking in the parking lot but that was okay?nThis man really does not have the right to talk to anyone the way he did. I'm not sure if he is still the owner but a year ago he was. I never got an apology from him. And I would never ever ever recommend anyone staying here.

Very rude, and whoever redone the rooms did a crappy job, only good thing is we were the only ones in the back! No amenities on WiFi and cable, no ice machine drink machine or laundry on site and highly over priced.

There is a bed, TV, refrigerator, and microwave. It's older and basic, but it's also the least expensive hotel in town.nnLots of reviews said that the owner was mean, but he has been nothing but courteous and friendly with me. His wife is also very friendly. If you follow the rules they will be extremely pleasant.nnThere is a strict no guests policy, which he needs to have in place. Being the least expensive hotel in town also tends to draw a less than desirable crowd in most cases. He has combated this by implementing the no guests rule. That way people can't party and cause a ruckus.nnOverall, if you are looking for inexpensive accommodations the Plaza Inn in Morganton, NC certainly fits the bill.nnThe room is clean and I haven't seen ANY bugs.nnIt has been very quiet the entire time I've been here.

I had a nonsmoking room but it smelled like smoke the heat was not even turned on when I got there and I had reserved it. And they wanted $5 just to let me in at 3 pm. No fun at all.
