The Lodge at River Run

The true meaning of southern comfort! I’d highly recommend staying here! Easy to get to both sugar and beech mountain! Amazing breakfast with clean rooms that access the outdoors! Walk right out to the river and enjoy the hot tub and other outdoor activities! The hostess was incredibly kind and Covid safety precautions would allow anyone to feel safe here! Highly recommend the rainbow trout room!

Sounds of the rushing river, squirrels playing in the yard, lush green grounds - those are the sights and sounds outside. Peace, tranquility, nature. The oversized porches are perfect for taking in the beauty of this property. Inside you will find all of the best touches a lodge B&B stay should have, and more. The most comfortable beds with luxury bedding and room darkening shades, combined with the sound machines lead to the most restful sleep. The lodge is immaculately clean and decorated well. The family rooms, kitchen, and guest rooms are well appointed.nnBobbie, the inn keeper is a gem. She ensures every guest is having their best experience. Breakfast is the quality of a five star restaurant but with the friendship of your closest friends and family. If you have dietary preferences or restrictions, she will ensure you are taken care of.nnI cannot rave enough about this stay. I’m already planning my return.

OMG, what a wonderful place to stay while visiting the high country of NC !!! You will be made to feel at home by Bobbie Parks, the highly qualified Innkeeper, and her friendly helpers, Neelam and Rosemary. Each of the five rooms are unique to suit one’s needs, and tastefully decorated. You are free to visit other areas of the house like the great room, library, and the upper outdoor deck with comfortable seating and TV. The grounds are impeccably maintained with lawns and beautiful flowers. Chairs are located by the Elk River, and at the fire pit. And speaking of the Elk River, a fly fisherman can fish for trout on a long stretch of this beautiful, fast moving river. You probably will not see another guest until Bobbie serves her delicious and photogenic gourmet breakfasts at 9:00 am outdoors, weather permitting, with guests seated at separate well-spaced tables. Certain concessions have been made because of Coronavirus, like no afternoon “wine time”, but all for the good of the health and safety of the guests and staff. For other meals, downtown Banner Elk is only a 3.3 mile drIve from the lodge. Some guests do take-outs from the Banner Elk restaurants, and eat back on the lodge’s deck while listening to the crackling sound of the river that runs through the property. The Lodge was such a pleasant place for a retreat with my mom. We shared the Hummingbird Room, which was perfect for us with comfortable twin beds, a large bathroom, and door opening to the patio; we could hear the river from our room. The Lodge overall is rustic elegance, tastefully decorated with thought put to many details of a comfortable stay. The facility was very clean, both inside and on the grounds, which also were thoughtfully landscaped. The food was excellent, and the innkeeper recommended excellent restaurants for lunch/dinner in the Banner Elk area. Many thanks to the staff for all your good and professional care ... we enjoyed our interactions with you! We hope to be back ... soon!
