Mainstay Suites St. Louis - Airport

This place was fine enough for sleeping for a night but I would not book this place for a longer stay. The lobby and outside appeared well maintained. As a convention goer, the kitchen in the room would be an amazing perk. However, checking in was a whole other story. The parking lot was FULL and we couldn't figure out if there was a lot for overflow. We pulled up to the front doors to check in and to ask about parking. Before we had a chance to get out of the car, a spot opened up nearby that we pulled into instead. We had made our reservation online but when we arrived there was NO STAFF at the desk. We did not realize the person who had left, opening up the parking spot, was actually the front desk person. It was just around midnight so the automatic doors were locked unless you had a guest key or hit the buzzer. There being no staff, there was no one to answer the buzzer so we were locked out along with a food delivery guy. A guest was nice enough to let us in and there upon we found a note at the desk stating an emergency and that they would be back. The number listed was called and we were given an estimate of about 15-20 minutes. In the interim we had pizza delivered to the lobby. Still no staff. We finished off the pizza. Still no staff. The number was called again but this time there was no answer. During all this, we had walked into a dispute between hotel guests in which, again, NO STAFF was available to mediate or resolve and we had to be the ones to let visitors, like the delivery persons, into the hotel. It was past 1am by the time we got into our room to sleep. I truly hope the emergency was resolved successfully. What I don't understand about all this is the lack of backup for someone leaving their post for an emergency or the lack of a chain of command that could have provided that backup.

We had never stayed in a mainstay but had a very good experience. Our room was big clean and comfortable. Lots of extras for a good value. I won't hesitate to choose Mainstay in the future.

!!!!!( Not Kid Friendly)!!!!nRooms are nice, and a good stay but the main issue to me is the fact that I was charged twice for 1 night and then charged 75 dollars for incidentals to the kitchen area for food spilled,( dry cereal and waffle batter on the machine) was blamed on my kids and wife where eating in the dinning room late in breakfast @ 8:48am. I called back and received attitude from the front desk (Kesha). As soon as I said what I was calling about see said, “ I know whom you are!”, I said this must be a joke, ( if it wasn’t bad then she even yelled at my child the day before when he went to check if breakfast was still going on the day before.) I asked for evidence (photos) for the mess, but still hasn’t produce nothing. I will never stay here again after feeling so horrible the way she ( Kesha) behaved with me and my wife. Great accomodations. Big parking lot down the street for larger vehicles. Grocery store and a few restaurants nearby

Great for now. Brand new facility so everything is nice. 3 of 5 on the breakfast; it's as basic as they can make it and still be considered. Quality varies a lot with the day. Friendly staff and accommodating. Access is just a little challenge and is only one way in from I-70 Eastbound. I've been here for several weeks. Access to lots of shopping and restaurants in easy distance. Definitely a recommend.
