Not a bad hotel, but not 5/5 either. We stayed the night before our flight from the Kansas City Airport. Our room had a sink that would not drain. We called and they sent maintenence up. This was fine because we get that these things happen. He was very nice, but we were wanting to get in our pajamas and relax. He was there for around an hour. I had to go down and ask for a different room. They did accommodate that, but I thought they should have offered that to us right away.nnOther than that, it was pretty good.
Arrived at midnight last night. Hotel is 5 minutes away. Called for van pickup, told van on its way. 30 minutes later, no van. Called again. Told van on its way, picking up others now. Finally arrived. This happens all the time here. Unreliable shuttle service here and always told falsities. Hear highway noise, close the Starbucks early in hotel. Needs a shakeup here, new management to fix things.nOh, and today, going from hotel to airport. No driver on van or waiting at van at hotel, it's 1 pm, time for van to go, door open. We get on, load our luggage. Waiting to go. Driver shows up, chastises us for getting on. Mad, drives super fast. I'm sorry, don't want us to get on and wait, keep the door closed. Problems with your shuttles here!
Have stayed at this hotel multiple times over the past 15 years. During that time it has undergone remodeling to keep current with the recent styles and replace worn carpet, furnishings etc. Always have had good service from the employees there. It kind of reminds me of the glory of air travel days back in the 60's when everything to do with air travel was upmarket and special. I spent the night there once during a blizzard. The hotel was completely full. I didn't have to be anywhere till the afternoon so I thought I would order room service instead of going to the restaurant. I was one of the last people to get a room that night, so I was on the top floor. When I ordered room service, I knew that the hotel was full and they were feeding a lot more people than normal without any additional staff, so I was prepared for my food to be lukewarm at best, maybe even room temperature, which, given the conditions, would have been alright with me.nImagine my surprise when the food arrived hot, like it was just taken out of the kitchen and brought to a table in the restaurant. That to me was a true test of the quality of service they have there. I hope that Hilton never does anything to alter this hotel.
I just stayed one night and it was absolutely perfect. The staff was awesome! Their shuttle is fantastic! They have a restaurant/ bar onsite that is open for food/ drink until 11:00 p.m. on Saturday [I didn't check the other hours] and Starbucks in the lobby, open 6:00 - 10:00 a.m. The bathroom in my unit was remodeled and perfect. The tub-sized shower and oversized lighted vanity were excellent. They post their cleaning procedures everywhere and they adhere to them. They even have self-sanitizing elevator buttons.
The entire hotel smells clean and looks clean. Very comfortable with the cleanliness. The only thing that I didn't like here, is how very easily you can here your neighbors when they are speaking in a normal volume. The room we stayed in has a door to the neighboring room on both sides and each side was curious what was behind the door and tried to open it from thier side. Not that big of deal since it's locked from our side, but just the sound of someone trying to get into your room. Otherwise, great stay overall.
