This is a real plantation house on 650 original acres from a Spanish land grant, unchanged and not updated. Don't expect gleaming fixtures and double-glazed windows. We enjoyed it for it's authenticity and the hosts, in whose family it has been for a very long time. Breakfast excellent! Host, very friendly. Very quiet.
My Husband And I stayed the weekend at The Cottage Plantation. We Really enjoyed our stay. Mrs. Mary was really nice and cooked us a wonderful breakfast served on China in the Dining Room of the main house. Lots of nice antiques . Very quite and relaxing. We will definitely go back sometime.
Love, love, love this place. The history is amazing and you have a private bath. Restorations are slow but they are being done properly. Its our home away from home.
The only plantation Which has not Been restaurated. IT is still authentic as iT was in The 19th century. Very beautifull and original.nThe cottage plantation is only open in The weekend, reservations with tourguide neccessary . The owners are 2 elderly people. Walking around yourself is not allowed due to an old insurance case. When you enter The entrance Lane, well hidden between trees, you think you drive in 1885. You immagine carriages driving up and forward. The beautifull old oaktrees with their angelhair. The very old wooden bridge. One word! Breathtaking
This place has lots of potential and looks like at one time was nice. It was dirty, grass uncut, pool was green and looked as if snakes and such were living in it. No lock on the door to secure your things when you left, tv did not work. Needs lots of work would not recommend staying here
