Hampton Inn & Suites New Iberia Avery Island

The walls were dingy looking, one of the rooms looked like the door had been kicked in, the lighting in the bathroom and vanity was dim and half working, there was trash on floors outside the rooms and the carpet was dirty throughout the building. The front entrance is nicer and well kept and looked better than the rooms. Our sheets and pillowcases were stained like they hadn't been washed which they probably wasn't because there was hair in the bed before we got in it. We had to use the sheets that was for the pullout which were bright white and clean. It was a decent place but they just need to do deeper cleaning and keep it up on a regular basis or the hotel is gonna really start to look run down.

The front desk (Dustin) customer service is not very nice. The first time I stayed, I had to ask about things that needed to be informed. Like where exactly was my room, etcnIt seems he was busy on the computer.

.So overall the room was clean & comfortable. AC worked great and got the room super cold. The front desk staff is friendly & helpful.nBut there are some things I have an issue with..nI used the app to due contact less check in & the digital key. It worked great the first day then stopped unlocking the door the 2nd night. Had to go to the front desk to get a plastic key. The elevator is extremely slow, shakes, & hesitates when the doors needed to open. I was scared i would get trapped in it everytime I rode it to the 3rd floor. My room had no microwave nor refrigerator. With this being the 2nd most expensive hotel in New Iberia I really expected a fridge & microwave (like the other cheaper Wyndham owned hotels in the area have). The road the hotel is on has several street lights & None of them work so its very hard to see the street at night. I missed my turn a few times..nThere was a need for me to unexpectedly stay a 3rd night so I checked out and went to another hotel near by that was $65 less but had a microwave & refrigerator, it was just as comfortable

I reserved 2 rooms for employees. Pre Paid both of them, received a confirmation number and receipt. When my employees arrived, their rooms were not available. Both employees were unable to find any other lodging and had to travel back home. Horrible service, would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Super clean, super affordable. Also an easy location off the interstate. Highly recommended.
