Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Richmond West at I-64, VA

We got a room with the smell of cigarettes and I was in advanced pregnancy, I immediately smelled the smell. We had to get back down with the equipment to the reception and tell the lovely clerk that there was a smell of cigarette smoking in the room. She immediately gave us a replacement room in its place, but it was an unpleasant experience at the end of a tiring day and a long drive. All in all, your hotel chain and also this hotel, is a wonderful place for families at a reasonable, clean and comfortable price. Good and pleasant service. Too bad it is not possible to get a bottle of water the morning before departure.

Ok, this place is smack dab in between the two worst hotels/motels there is. Motel 6 on one side and quality inn on the other. Both are nasty. But Country Inn was AMAZING, very clean. Only grab and go breakfast though. Don't be swayed by this hotel being next to the worst of the worst.

The room looked clean, but we still wiped all surfaces down ourselves. The only downside was sleeping on a King size bed, and the mattress is weak in the center. So that is where you end up. One last item. The heater was noisy. All night long. Every time it came on it made a noise.

We had the most horrible experience. The manager at the country inn & suites Richmond west, on 8010 west broad street was just horrible to me and my family. She wouldn’t let us check in when we got there and it felt like she just didn’t want us there. I had to call corporate in order to be checked in. The check out process was also terrible as the same manager refused to give us a receipt. She then charged us some random amount on our card that was more than what our stay was supposed to be. I confronted her and she refused to look at our confirmation and told us to call corporate. That’s not even the worst of it. We checked in, a hour after check in time, she made us sit and wait in front of our room while they cleaned it. She wouldn’t just give us a already cleaned room, it was humiliating. I’m wondering if she told the maids not to give us clean towels, because by the point we were wanting to take a shower because the towels were 100% used and had stains all over them. My husband and I decided not to make a fuss and just not shower is and the children because we had already been through so much with this manager and the hotel. I also took pictures. There were holes on the walls, stains all over the furniture, and by the time breakfast hit, she only put out cereal and refused to serve us anything else. I have never met this women so I don’t know why she would want to torture my family and my baby boys. My boys are mixed with black and white, so I could only feel discriminated against and racially profiled by this manager.
