Stafford House

The Stafford House is an amazing, one of a kind B&B. We live in the area and have stayed here nearly ten times, celebrating occasions, or just to get away. The proprietor, Donna, is welcoming and is happy to answer any questions about local dining and attractions. We enjoy the huge jacuzzi and my husband’s favorite is the sauna. There are nice restaurants close by, and we bring our own snacks and wine and spend the evenings in front of the cozy fireplace. Donna delivers breakfast at a time of your choosing; on our last visit she surprised us with pumpkin waffles. A lovely room decorated in the Victorian style with original fixtures and charm.

This was my first experience at a bed and breakfast and will not be my last. Donna was a wonderful host. The service and breakfast were excellent and location was great. Will definitely recommend for a relaxing getaway.

My husband and I stayed in the suite for an anniversary get away but we will be back before long! I cannot say enough good things about Donna and the Stafford House. The space was elegant and clean. The amenities for the cost was unreal. I could live in the bathtub. The breakfast was homemade and scrumptious. Most wonderfully, the space was peaceful and quiet with complete sound privacy from any other movement in the house! I plan on coming back for a personal writers retreat this winter and make use of the sauna.

We really enjoyed our stay here & the owner, Donna, was very, very pleasant. Check-in was smooth & problem free. Room was very nice & quaint. My only small issue would be they didn't have any non-pork options for breakfast. May be something to consider for some. Other than that, location was perfect to D.C. & other cities we wanted to explore. We would go again!

The room was very clean but a bit dated. We were looking for a COVID friendly option and thought a smaller lodging location would give us the best chance at reducing exposure. The trade off was quite a dated room. The breakfast was tasty though not eating pork meant no meat at all so if you have dietary restrictions, that may be something to keep in mind. Donna was very nice. The one thing that was somewhat confusing was she stressed (told us at least two times within the first 5 minutes of meeting) that we move our car to another parking spot yet the original spot we were in remained empty during our entire stay. It is also easy to pass so keep an eye out. The shower was the best part of the room!
