I have to say that, I am very impressed with the hospitality given to me by the young lady at the front Desk Tabitha .nTabitha was very friendly and kind.nShe was very accommodating to me by letting me check in early. Also heard her being accommodating to other guest on my way out. I have no doubt in my mind that she will go above and beyond to meet your needs.nWill def be back if ever again in Lynchburg
I’m a huge fan of holiday inn they are typically my hotel of choice on all vacations. But this stay it’s a 2.5 star.nnThe building I could tell is pretty old but somewhat well kept. Seems like renovations had taken place but not enough to really remove the old feel you get walking in.nn1. Hotel has similar setup of the past days. Not really modern. You can tell by old equipment and fire strobes for the fire alarm. And wallpaper is a bit tacky. But overall not a deal breaker.nn2. Opening the door to your room is were the old feeling intensifies a bit. The setup again reminds me of an old hotel and not a modern one. But at least they went the distance to make sure it had good up keep. But didn’t hide all the “old” in the building.n3. Bathroom gave it all away. The fan was rusted out and squeaky when you turned it on. Than the bath tub is the slippery hazard kind and it had two rust spots where it’s starting to rust through the metal. Shower head was not properly attached to the wall and bounced a bit.n4. Smell is something I agree with other reviewers on. There is a weird kind of mothball like “old” smell. Which again happens with time to old buildings that are patched and painted instead of renovated.n5. Hate HATE that the hotel industry switched to rock hard mattresses. They are SUPER uncomfortable. A mid range to slightly hard mattress would be a better option to compromise for all users.n6. The ac is loud. And squeaked. Needs service.n7. Location is rather odd and sort of difficult to get too. If I was holiday inn. I’d shut that building down and move it to a more friendly location. That has direct clean access from the high way.nnI liked that I’ve seen a real renovation effort on most holiday inns around the country. Very nice. But I hate that there are odd ball locations like this one that was just spruced up instead of renovated.nnThe industry does not seem to understand that old buildings have smells to them. Have lots of problems and that people staying there will notice all these things. Charging premium prices for “spruced up” is unfair. Essentially your saying I’ll charge you as if this was a brand new state of the art hotel when really it’s a spruced up old building. It doesn’t make sense.nnStaff was amazing there. And honestly I’d recommend people to stay there. It’s not bad. It’s just that you should get more for the prices charged.
Typical HIE layout, but limited parking, rooms in need of updating illustrated by furniture with holes in them, mildew on the curtains and very tired carpet. Place smells musty.nnUpdate. This hotel has been renovated and is in better shape as of 12/1/20 but still has some issues. Shower curtain rod was broken in my room and could have been cleaner. There are numerous other new hotels in the area better than this one.
Stayed here a year ago and work set me back up in there again. After working all day, come back and not one thing to relax with. No hot tub in the pool area. Then again, neither does the Holiday Inn Plaza Hotel in Bowling Green, KY. Not looking forward to boredom in a couple of weeks.
Awesome place, quiet, don't have to worry about anything. Good prices too
