I would like to say that I am not a hiker, but someone renovating a condemned property and in need of an affordable place to stay while doing so here. Daniel, the care taker, will more than make you feel at home and will make a decent cup of coffee for you every morning. It’s Folgers, but when done right, it tastes great. The place is clean and I don’t say that lightly. It’s, I wouldn't mind taking my meals in the bathroom, clean. Multiple industrial sized washers and dryers that are obviously cleaned and maintained well. Highly suggest you make use of the grill on site.
The best thing about this place was definitely the people. So friendly and inviting. Made you feel at home. This is not to say that anything else about the hostel wasn't up to par. Reasonable rates, nice room, actually really nice house that guests are allowed full use of. Great location. Would definitely recommend and would stay there again if traveling in the area.

Hiker friendly hostel. Super clean, updated bathroom and appliances. Caretakers are friendly and hospitable. Shuttles available.
Mr. Stanley's heart and effort is in this hostel. It is an optimal resting place for all travelers who can partake in a communal setting. Living, dining and kitchen areas are shared, and some bedrooms are private. One has its own bath. Bed room doors can be locked only when you are in it. Also, the main entrance door remains unlocked. Overall, one can attain hygiene, economy and peace of mind here. It is in proximity to necessary amenities.
