Frederick House

Our stay was nothing short of fantastic. The room was cute and spacious. The local town is charming, plenty of eateries close by. The breakfast is a major bonus, they had a great selection to choose from including ham pie, quiche, and gluten free waffles. This was an unexpected gem along quite a drive!

Owner Ross was so hospitable & helpful as our family traveled through Staunton. We enjoyed a spacious family suite that was very clean & comfortable. We especially appreciated breakfast delivered to our room during Covid when we weren’t comfortable dining indoors (plus with small children this was an added ease). And the breakfast was both beautiful & delicious! Highly recommend a stay here supporting the preservation of this historic gem!

The rooms are great as always and the new owners are very nice. We will be back!

Owner very friendly and accommodating, location is right downtown, our room had a nice porch, breakfast choices were perfect (if you go the strata is delicious) and the pumpkin bread and, and.... We are used to resort properties and missed some amenities.examples... Newspaper delivered to the door or one available, fluffy towels, coffee etc in room, we were missing glasses or cups (still didn't have after mentioning our 2nd day). Did pick up free water bottles. Bed was very comfortable but sheets were short... wouldn't stay tucked in.. well, not big enough for big deep mattress... I would not keep these things from staying here... it's a nice place downtown. Don't let first impression in the lobby mislead you.... Tables and chairs stacked, etc.... Busy place....

Perfect place to stay for visiting Shenandoah. Stopped here for a very impromptu hiking trip and this was such a lucky find. Staunton has cute coming out the wazoo and this bed and breakfast does too. The keeper told us the room they had left was very small and it was but it worked perfectly for two of us and our large dog. The breakfast was top notch and the staff here are very warm and hospitable! We also loved that they are dog friendly when so many hotels and B&Bs in Staunton were not. Which is surprising since Shenandoah is a dog friendly NP. We loved our quick little stay.
