Red Lion Hotel Port Angeles Harbor

We got a room with a view of the ocean which was pretty nice. A lot of the rain we chose this place over other stays was due to the amenities the person over the phone discussed with us. Unfortunately all the things the person on the phone discussed with us after telling us they indeed were talking to us from the Port Angeles hotel, were a lie. The pool and jacuzzi are both closed. The bikes they told us we could rent and ride on the Discovery trail were all broken. Also the complimentary breakfast they offered is not available either.nnThe front desk attendant just told us that we talked to a booking agent and should have pressed the secret '0' button to reach the office directly?nnThe room is good and has a nice view so of that is all your looking for then your good to go. I don't enjoy being lied to even if it's just a booking agent. should never be a business practice or reason for it. I feel it's a bit high pricing wise if they can't even provide the complimentary breakfast.

We stayed here for 3 days starting on March 4, 2021, which cost us a total of $280. This place doesn’t look like much from the outside but it was actually excellent. The room was nicely appointed and very clean (no cleaning smells). Very nice bathroom with a great shower/tub. Our room was on the parking lot side but this place butts up against the Port Angeles Waterfront which is really nice. There is a wonderful walking trail along the waterfront. Excellent place overall and a great value for the money.

We really wanted to give this hotel a chance, seeing that it was right on the water with wonderful views, albeit a little older and slightly run down looking. We checked online, and it showed ample availability, but when we arrived at the desk not only was the woman working incredibly rude, she insisted that there wasn’t a single room available. Which seemed a little odd since the parking lot was basically empty and online was showing plenty. We were ready to chalk it up to website error, but then she went on to insist that in the ten minutes since we’d sat in the parking lot checking availability and reviews, that somehow they’d had a lot of walk-ins come in and book up all the rooms. Not a single soul had gone into that lobby. I don’t think she realized we were already there in the parking lot when she said this. We promptly left and took our business to the Port Angeles Inn, which as it turns out had amazing staff and a absolutely breath taking view. Will never again attempt to stay at a Red Lion Inn.

I would give this 2.5 stars if I could. Not great, but not the worst. Could not connect to hotel wifi once throughout my stay. Cell service is limited in the area, as well. A redeeming quality is the staff are accommodating and friendly, and the breakfast provided was delicious. The location is nice as well, as it is close to everything and right on the waterfront. The rooms are mediocre at best. I found a used wash cloth in the shower that had been hung in the shower curtain rod for who knows how long. It was crusty looking. Would not recommend to anyone who is staying in the area on business.

Great location and view of the water. Easy access to walking trail along the shore. Staff was friendly. The room itself was spacious and nice but showed a little ware. Overall, nice place to stay and would go back again.
