Please carefully consider staying with this host. My wife and I felt unsafe and left the propertynnMy wife and I wanted to extend our honeymoon a day in Santa Fe. Upon pulling into the parking lot to find our designated spot, we clipped our Sprinter van on a bracket extending from a public utility pole, doing a fair amount of damage to our van.nnWe called AAA immediately to help limit damage to the van and bracket. The owner of the hotel accused us of destroying her property, demanded I turn over my identification to her, called the police on us, had her family circle us and take pictures of us and threatened us with an attorney. She is also refusing to return our money.nnThe Santa Fe police, fire department, utility folks and tow drivers could not have been more kind and reassuring. The police told us to leave as soon as we could, and had to tell the owner of the hotel to let us leave without incidence.nnIn a moment where kindness would have gone a long way, this host called the police on us, threatened us with an attorney and had effectively stolen our money.nnThis was an unnecessarily hostile experience, and we encourage you to think carefully about staying with this host.
Oh my goodness, this was the most beautiful room I have ever stayed in!!! Very stylish, with wonderful fine art and antiques, heated bathroom floors, roll-in shower for those of us in wheelchairs and perfectly appointed for accessibility. GREAT price! I want to go back for our anniversary.
I am leaving this review to warn people who are considering staying here to think otherwise. The owners of this hotel are rude and vindictive. My husband and I did not even get the chance to stay at this hotel because the owners called the Police on us before we could. We were traveling from out of town in a 22’ Sprinter van and were told by the owner we could park it in the back. So, we arrived to the property unable to find the parking spot we were told to park in. I was driving the van and had to turn around in the lot in the back. In doing so, my van clipped a metal bracket (that was unseen and unmarked) on a public utility pole. In order to prevent further damage to the van and to the pole, my husband and I called AAA to get the van off the bracket. In the mean time, the owner drove into the lot and created a panicked scene. Never once did she ask how we were or if there was anything she could do to help. Instead, she threatened us with her lawyer and asked my husband for his ID. We told her that our first priority was to prevent further damage and that we would be happy to cover any damages to her property, if that were the case. Instead of helping find a solution, she called the Santa Fe police instead. So, the Police and Fire Department show up. At that moment I’m embarrassed and upset - and am hopeful I can make things right. The Fire Department immediately leaves the scene, stating that we had done the right thing calling AAA to get us out of the lot. The Police were kind and understanding and assured me that we were doing the right thing. A police report was created to appease the owner and I was given no citation because I had clipped a public utility pole and did no damage to this property. The police told us that as soon as AAA got us out of the lot, we were free to leave. The public utility company also showed up, and immediately told me that the pole was fine, undamaged, and that there was absolutely no risk to there being problems with the property. So, the owner is now trashing my husband’s review (which I’m sure can be found here) and his Air BnB rating - despite the fact that we didn’t even stay at their property. We clearly didn’t feel comfortable staying here. We have proof that there was no damage done to her property and I was given no citation by the police. I simply caught myself in a bad situation that caused damage to my own car - and found a way out of it. These people showed absolutely no compassion to what was a simple accident.
It almost pains me to write this because I want this to stay a hidden gem, but my boyfriend and I left this morning and can’t stop talking about how magical this place is. First off it’s GORGEOUS. The attention to detail, the artwork, the courtyard... it’s all perfect. The Innkeeper is very helpful and you can tell he takes pride in what he does which we really appreciate. He made sure we were able to get in and out 100% contactless, which is shockingly difficult to find even a year into Covid. Also it snowed through the night and when we came out to our car it had been scraped off which was so generous and cool. The neighborhood is so quiet and lovely and yet so close to everything. I can’t wait to come back!
Could not have had a more pleasant time at Casa Culinaria in Santa Fe NM. The room was beautiful and had one of the most pleasant views from the couch in the living area. The staff was extremely welcoming and made our vacation one to remember. Great location and accommodations. Thanks again!
