We spent our Honeymoon just after Christmas and for New Years 2002. It was an amazing 7 days. Staff, accommodations, and the experience were second to none! Now that we have two little ones we are planning our return, soon!!!!
We researched dude ranches for months before we chose BMR. We wanted a family trip, we were not disappointed!nnOur cabin was beautiful, updated, and had a great view. The beds were comfortable and the king size bed was a great perk! The altitude was no problem for my family. The hill up to the cabin was no joke for this midwesterner-take it slow and don’t try to eat a homemade cookie from the bottomless cookie jar while climbing and you’ll be fine. Check out the view from the cabin deck and munch away. There are some cabins closer to the lodge.nnThe Wranglers were great, knew the property well, and always had ideas for where we could ride. They were great with the kids and helpful teaching us how to ride.nThere are endless possibilities for riding at BMR. Our wrangler customized our rides for us so we always got the perfect ride. Very few large group rides! Most were just our family! No matter your experience- BMR is a good match- just discuss your preferences with your assigned wrangler. The views were breathtaking!!!nOur horses were well cared for, well trained, and very responsive. Oh, and super sweet! Kids loved them. Pony spa was a hit!!!nnPack camp was amazing! Sleep outside in the cozy sleeping bags on a cot and enjoy the stars! My family loved it- we had shooting stars! Actually quite comfortable I was impressed! You can also sleep in the tents but where is the fun in that!nnWe made quick friends and the kids ran around the ranch in a pack during our free time. There were chickens, goats, roping, dogs, hoses to pet and groom, games in the saloon, leather working, fishing, swimming, or just impromptu games of tag. Kids will be busy and will sleep well at night in their comfy beds.nThe Saloon was lively at night but still family friendly.nNikola the professional photographer was amazing- I’m so happy to have pictures of the entire family- not in selfie mode. She really worked hard to get the perfect shots!!!!!nnLast but not least is Bob. Fantastic master of the kitchen. We were overwhelmed with the care and execution of his food. Every meal was impressive. You will never be hungry!!!!nWell you made it to the end, congratulations! Look no further! Pick this one you will NOT be disappointed!!!nFYI- half of the guests were repeat guests! That says a lot! We will be back as well!
very welcoming and wonderful team in a beautiful location. Thank you Amber for the great experience!
An amazing time with my family. We have 4 kids 9,7,4 and 2 and everyone had a blast. Riding horses, fishing, learning to rope cattle and shooting a bow and arrow. The food was fantastic and the kids ran to lodge when they heard the dinner bell. We loved the week we spent there.
We had an AMAZING week at Black Mountain Ranch. Everything was stellar: the food, the staff, the amazing horses (we each had our own for the week), the accommodations and facilities, the pace of the week... literally everything.nnEvery day was filled with firsts and our boys absolutely LOVED every second of it. After cruel editing, we took over 400 amazing photos and videos and turned them into a gorgeous photo album. Whenever the boys flip through it, they are reminded of our incredible week there and ask when we can go back.nnThis is an amazing amazing amazing trip for families.
