Hilton Garden Inn San Mateo

Attended a business workshop in one of the conference rooms. Bathrooms were clean, room was spacious and the staff was nice. The restaurant is closed for lunch on the weekends, but do not worry! There are restaurants when walking distance.

Lobby area is nice but the rooms are meh. Weird beds that can be adjusted in firmness, but there is no obvious guide for doing this, so I slept on a soft mattress the first night and killed my back. The breakfast buffet was $20 which is ludicrous.

Overall very good. Beds and pillows fantastic. Front desk a little off. Not clear on process to get breakfast, especially if you have vouchers but never received them. Confusing for both servers and guest. Restaurant is weak and not welcoming at all. I think it would do better if menu posted and wasn't set up like it was breakfast. Server were very attentive for breakfast. Free parking!!!!

Great and friendly staff. Rooms are big but it can be painful if you are 1 or 2 rooms next to the elevators... it’s just to annoying to hear it operates the whole day.

The hotel is ok, it needs updating especially in the bathroom and bed. Overall it is clean and staff are very friendly. Its close to eateries so its nice.
