During this pandemic, the night clerk kept his mask in his hand. Not even around his mouth.nnIn the morning, the front desk clerk simply left their mask hanging around their neck. If the staff can't follow through with keeping their masks on as mandated, or even in order to protect their guests, how can it be presumed they would have the same follow through in regards to their room cleaning?

Usually when I am visiting my relatives in Watertown, we stay at the hotel across the street, I think it's a motel 6. I usually stay there because it's cheaper, and mostly I just need a place to sleep. But I thought I'd give this place a try this time because it wasn't that much more expensive, so I thought I'd check if it was worth the extra price. I think I paid about $50 more over the course of two nights to stay at the Best Western instead of motel 8. Pretty much nobody wore a mask the whole time I was there. Not the workers or the guests. I did see a couple of the workers wearing masks when we first checked in. But for the most part, it seemed like masks were not important to them. The breakfast was not great. They just give you frozen sandwiches or burritos to take back to your room and microwave. That's not terrible, but they also ran out of everything very quickly both of the mornings I was there. If you're just going to the grocery store and buying some frozen breakfast food, I'm not sure why you wouldn't just buy enough for all of the guests. It seems like you would know how many guests for staying there that night and you would buy enough frozen food for all of them. If you don't want to do that, then maybe don't say that you have free breakfast available? The food that they did have available, was fine. It was the same as if you went to Walmart and bought some frozen Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches and then headed them up in your microwave. The bed made my back hurt. But I have a sensitive back, my boyfriend thought the bed was fine. It seemed like they were still in the middle of a remodel as some of the signs were not posted on the walls yet and it looked like some walls were being painted. The new remodel looked very nice. I liked the colors they were using on the walls. But some of the fixtures were still the same older ones. So it seemed like they picked and choose what they updated. I didn't have a chance to try out the pool or any of the other amenities. They looked fine through the window though. I liked that they offered to sign me up for their Best Western rewards and a few skipped having housekeeping then you got bonus points for your rewards. I also liked that the lady who checked us in explained we could skip housekeeping but just ask for refills on any coffee or toiletries we might need. They actually had a Keurig and real Keurig pods instead of the weird coffee filter things that most hotels have. The toiletries were super nice! They actually had Bath & body works toiletries for the shampoo and body lotion and conditioner and Watkins facial soap bars. I was really surprised to see such nice toiletries! I did think it was a pretty good value overall. I would be on the fence as to whether I would be willing to spend the extra money to stay there again rather than just keeping out and staying at super 8. Knowing I have to rewards points at that hotel definitely does make me feel like maybe I would want to stay there again. And the nice toiletries also would make me feel like I want to stay there again. And the Keurig pods were really nice too. But the bed and the ambiance and the decor wouldn't have been enough for me to be willing to spend the extra money. I think I paid about $74 a night before fees.
