Red Roof Inn Toledo - University

I've been staying in hotels in different parts of the country almost continuously since September for work, and this is one of the worst, especially considering the price I paid (over $65 with tax, stayed one night). The room is quite small, 1/3 the size of the one I had at the Red Roof over on the SW side near the turnpike. It smelled like smoke, and I don't mean just a little. It was in the bedding and towels. Also was real surprised there was no fridge, no microwave, and NO COFFEE. Not in the room or office. The worst part though was the amount of parking lot activity at all hours of the night and day. The place was less than 1/2 occupied, but you wouldn't know it by all the coming and going even at 3 am, people sitting in cars idling for long periods (right outside the rooms, so get a 2nd or 3rd floor room unless you like exhaust fumes and sound of loud mufflers), non-guests in cars idling having long conferences with guests, people outside the rooms talking on their phones at 3 am. The only place I recall having a night security guard in the office, which I was glad to see. Was quite relieved to get out of there.

Stayed here with some online friends several years ago for a weekend to finally meet up. Just remembered this place when we were talking about it and had to leave a one star review. Rooms were filthy and beds were pretty uncomfortable. Also the motel reported our vehicles to the police because they thought we were drug dealers (we were both from out of state and met at a half way point). DEA pulled them over and searched their car as soon as they got on the express way. Pretty sure some of the people in the parking lot were undercover cops.Great times, trash motel. 0/10 would sell drugs here.

I have had my fair share of visits to hotels but this has to be one of the worst experiences by far. It started off bad when I called to make a reservation for three rooms. I spoke to a young man name David and at the time I was explaining to him what I wanted and if he could assist me. He then proceeded to say that it would better for me if I would call the 1800 number and speak with them because he is overwhelmed with people standing in line and with another on hold. I said okay and made my reservation with over the phone with the number he provided me. Upon arrival a met David and introduced myself as the young lady he spoke with on the phone last night. He then proceeds to tell me he remembers the conversation we had. Once that was said we continue to process payment with the rooms. During the payment process he charged my card twice (which he should've only done once) messing up my account which caused me not to use my funds during my stay in Ohio. Also he demanded my handicap mother to get out the van to sign her signature for the room. Once I stated she could not because of her disability he asked well how is she going to get in the room....THAT SET ME OFF...he then figured out a different way she could sign. Once I got my mother settled she then told me that she had low water pressure, no hot water, and ants instead of putting her in another room they. Just came in and started fixing everything.... my hotel room had cobb webs over the lamp and mirrors so I guess once they clean the room they don't go back in the dust everything. The only good thing about this experience was the gentalman who was checked us out. He was very kind. I will be reaching out to management this week to follow up.

Oh my goodness! The staff was great! Granted she was the only staff attendant, Dawn was very nice and exceptionally helpful. Would definitely recommend This hotel! #1 in my books.

I am from toledo but now live in Nashville TN when I come to visit, red roof inn secor is my choice of stay. I work remote so I get a king suite with desk. The prices are reasonable and internet is great for working remote. I have never ever ever had any issues with red roof inn. Tonite 2/31/2021 at about 10:20pm I come to town for a funeral on tuesday so I have to work remote tomorrow. I went to get a room and was denied. The guy employee said when he ran my license it came back that I was banned from this hotel by the GM for playing loud music in the parking lot out of my car. I was trying to explain that they have the wrong person. I was then trying to get more information like who to call, dates of incident and whatever else I needed to resolve this because it was the first time I've heard of it. I have no emails, letters or anything about banning me from this hotel. I didn't speak to anyone about an incident at any red rood hotels. Instead the employee told me I'm not suppose to be on the property. So I asked him how was I supposed to know I'm trespassing if I never heard of this incident. He then threatened to call the police because he said I was tresspassing. I told him to call them because I done nothing wrong. Trying to get to the bottom of something I'm being accussed of and knew nothing about was not wrong. I am a 48 year old man. I'm a computer technician and my wife is a lawyer. We don't rent out hotel rooms and party, smoke etc. We work work work. I am so disappointed in how I was treated. I will never stay at this or any red roof inn hotels. I am canceling my membership. Not just because I am being accussed of something I have no knowledge of and denied a room. Buit mainly how unprofessional the employee was and how disrespectful he was. I just want information on the incident and he got loud and threaten to call the police and then said he's pressing charges cause I told him to go ahead and call the police.
