DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel Columbus Downtown

This cannot be a Hilton at all!!!! If it is, this is the Detroit version of the what a Hilton used to look like or a post apocalyptic version. However, like many guests, I was swayed by the star rating that was well over 4 stars. Reserved the 2 story suite (1of 3 at the hotel) with the river view roughly 45 days in advance for my anniversary. We arrived and entered from the parking garage to get into the elevator, it appeared that segment of the hotel was involved in a pseudo food fight with vending machine food. Food particles all over the floor like a movie theater. I thought to myself, but, didn't want to say aloud that this can't be a good sign. I didn't know that it foreshadowed things to come at that hotel. Even after I arrived, no mention was made about the 2 story suite being unavailable. Imagine my surprise when I finally entered the room, which, happened to be dirty, dingy, and disgusting. I was in complete disbelief at the miniature room that was apparently previously involved in a dust storm of some kind. There was milky stuff on the windows and the walls. Just don't know who they have cleaning this place, Ray Charles could see the place was filthy. The air vents looked like a cautionary tale of how not to maintain your HVAC system. It looked like any guests staying there would have immediate breathing problems and or allergy/sinus issues. I just don't know who manages this hotel. It's almost like a flea market Hilton, if there was one. If you have people that you don't like, in-laws, enemies, etc., just recommend this hotel and they will get the message of just how much you really dislike them.

My boyfriend and I stayed here a few months ago and were very impressed with the professionalism and helpfulness of the staff. They moved a few things around to give us a room that had a water and city view. Our stay was fabulous!nWe'd scheduled another stay there this month and were unable to make our trip. I completely missed cancelling on time and was charged for the first night. I called DoubleTree and spoke with Annie, a manager there (maybe Amy, now I can't quite remember), explained the situation, and she was incredibly friendly, supportive, and agreed to refund the charge. We will definitely stay at DoubleTree the next time we go to Columbus!!

Great room, very comfortable bed and clean. Very nice staff. Didnt offer cookie so 4 stars.

Awesome hotel in a great location. Dead middle of downtownb next to the capital and supreme court and state house. Corner room was perfect!
