Sonesta Columbus Downtown

Showing its age. I've had two stays lately, both room doors wouldn't automatically close. Carpet bubbles can cause tripping. Left something in my room, came by the next day to inquire, and they only use a third party. Wouldn't even check on it. Won't be staying there again. Why should I when there's plenty of other places nearby?nnEdit: this review was written when it was Crowne Plaza. Perhaps things have improved with new management.

The receptionist at the front was lovely and welcoming. She was extremely personable and helpful. When we checked in we went to our room and were disturbed to see what we found. There were black speckles across both pillows on the back as well as the sheets. This is extremely eery to find because we weren't sure if it was bed bugs, coffee grounds or what. We called the front desk and they were so helpful and ensured someone would be up with new sheets and pillows. 10 minutes later we were greeted with a garbage bag full of pillows and sheets. I'm not above changing my own sheets but when there is unknown things on the bed I found it a bit unprofessional.nnWe then went to open the curtains to find a full balloon behind them. The bathroom sink didn't even seem to be wiped off. We ended up staying less than an hour and asked for a refund...

Staff was amazing I'd just got in town from school and I was absolutely exhausted it was around 7:30am I'd had a reservation with another hotel whom would not allow me to check in until 3:00pm! And of course didn't want to call and wake my family up lol I called Sonesta and they were MORE than understanding they got me a room booked right away and allowed me to check in and get some rest I hate that I can't remember the woman's name that was at the front desk but she was working the morning shift. Thank you so much Sonesta you guys were a life saver!

Service was good, food was not. We did Restaurant week. The atmosphere was okay.

It was ok. there were lots of small issues like the door not working right off the bat, for a couple hours until maintainance got there( maintainance was nice). also we reserved a king bed and it was two queens so my wife and I fit but it's not what I paid for. The cost of parking was also out of control... As I guest I should never be paying $24/ day to park themselves or $28 for valet Room was clean and the view was nice other then that it was completely mediocre...
