Gardner Farm Inn

Staying with John feels like staying with an old friend. His hospitality is matched only by his delicious breakfasts. We drove up from the city to celebrate my wife’s birthday and John provided a cake and stayed up talking with us to wish her happy birthday at midnight. His daily breakfasts are tastier than even the most popular brunch spots here in New York. We stayed in the Josephine Baker room, which provided a comfortable night’s sleep. The en-suite bathroom was beautiful and great for taking a nice soak at the end of the day. John’s put a lot of love and detail into creating a comfortable environment. The Inn is very clean, and we felt safe staying during COVID. He sanitized our room from top to bottom before we arrived and waits 72 hours between guests. John also makes himself available for conversations and advice for what to do in the area. Great place to stay!

My husband and I had such a great stay with John. The inn is beautiful and impeccably clean and John’s hosting skills are unmatched. He made us feel most welcome and relaxed, not to mention how delicious breakfast was. Highly recommend staying with him if you’re in the area.

My husband and son had business in Troy and decided to take their spouses for a getaway. Gardner Farm Inn turned out to be a remarkable discovery so much so we stayed an extra third night. The owner, John, is a wonderful, charming, eager to please host with fabulous taste and, if you want, will share some very interesting stories. Each room has a theme and all are so enjoyable to explore. He has fantastic taste with many antiques and art work that are wonerful to find out about.nNeed I forget that his breakfasts are out of this world delicious. He puts some much care and creativity into preparation. Come to think of it, the whole inn reflects his care, great taste and creativity. Treat yourself! An outstanding stay.

My husband Sean and I spent our anniversary at the Inn. The Gardner Farm Inn is a true gem! The thing that makes this Inn truly special is the owner, John. So accommodating and pleasant. We talked for quite a while during our stay. Great conversationalist and so fun to hang with. We stayed in the Mae West room. Squeaky clean from top to bottom. Comfy bed, fluffy towels and relaxing atmosphere. The inn itself is absolutely the coolest. The decor is beautiful, fun and eclectic. Loved going around the house with John and hearing about the antique decor and the history of the house itself. The breakfast was DELICIOUS!! He really puts his heart and soul into it. AMAZING french toast! We can't wait to go back. Thanks John!!

We had a short but incredible stay at the inn. Our room was beautiful and SO comfortable— the duvet, the towels, the bed, everything was plush and wonderful. We also loved talking to John, who is so friendly and kind, and petting his sweet greyhounds, Margaret and Nigel. Breakfast was fresh and delicious, with great coffee, fresh squeezed orange juice, and herbs from the garden. For COVID precautions, we chose to eat outside and John was super accommodating. Luckily, it was a beautiful day and we got to enjoy a view of scenic fall foliage. We hope to be back soon!
