Smitty's Cyclery

I purchased a bike online from a seller on Amazon. From what I read in the description and after viewing the photos, I thought I was getting a great deal. I had been shopping for a performance road bike for a week or so and though I would have preferred to get it from a local store, the prices were more than I could afford. So, finding what I believed to be a great deal turned into a nightmare. Since I have no experience with assembly of such a bike, my problem started there. I suspected that there were hidden issues that I had no idea about. I called around to 7 or more bike repair shops. Most were 2 plus weeks behind on service. Most were pleasant to enquire on the phone, but kind of short and offered very few options. When I spoke with the woman at Smitty's, she was not only pleasant and sincerely nice, she was empathetic to my frustration and she took the time to explain what needed to be done to be sure I was riding a safe bike. I took the bike to them and they called me the next day to tell me it was done. Even though I didn't want to hear the bad news of the quality and functionality of thebike, their honesty was greatly appreciated. I'm returning the bike and still looking. I will definitely keep them at the top of my list if I ever need service again. Their customer service is why I chose to go there, their honesty will ensure that I will come back.

I have visited this shop a couple times, people are great and treat the customer well...I went in for a wheel repair expecting to spend about $100 and ended up with a $37 bill and the work was done extremely well and within a few days...

Great selection with personalized service. No reason to pay Montgomery Cyclery prices when there's a better selection and better service only a few miles away.

There is a bike shortage and Smitty's put me on a list to be called as soon as a bike I was looking for was available.

Terrible attitude, rude experience, did not fix the problem, poor follow up.
