Nice, clean comfortable room! After reading some comments on here I found this to be a great place to stay! I was told the air conditioner didn't work. We didn't need it but there was a fan available if needed. The bed was comfortable. I will stay again.

We had a wonderful stay at the Aspen Inn. Sure it’s a little dated, but that didn’t bother us. It was clean, and had everything we needed at a decent price. We even got to bring our dog for a very low pet fee. The staff was friendly and had great advice for restaurants and hiking. We plan to come back next year and will definitely be staying here again!

Affordable, basic accommodations with a nice hot tub we used on a previous visit, quiet, and lovely staff who make you feel very welcome. You are able to bring your dog for a cheap pet fee! COVID precautions are taken and you are given a plentiful bag of goodies to take to your room for a continental breakfast. We always feel comfortable staying here after long days playing around Grand Marais!!

I wouldve given it one star but the woman at the front desk was very kind and helpful. She gave us a discount and even helped up switch rooms when our first one didn't have a working TV. Unfortunately, that's the only nice thing I can say about it. The mattress was rock hard, I slept on top of the covers + a sleeping bag i brought & i still woke up with a hurting back. Even the pillows feel like rocks. We finally got a TV that worked but it was super old and grainy. Tiny bathroom. One small mini fridge. Oh and the AC sounded like an airplane taking off. There was no pool open. At one point i considered sleeping in my car because i thought it might be more comfy. Also they don't lock the outside doors at night, this weird man was in the hallway all night talking on the phone (I don't think he was a guest). I know he was out there all night because the walls are paper thin :) If no other hotels are available, sleep in your car.

Found this little gem on an adventure a couple weeks ago and cannot stop telling everyone how great it was! Motels are my new favorite way to travel after this! The convenience of packing/unpacking is at the top of the list, but the location and staff tied for first of reasons why I'll stay again. The pool/hot tub were in another building, but it felt great walking outside after being nice and warm. My room was a couple doors down from the laundry and ice. After climbing rocks all day this was an amenity I was happy to have! The lady at the front desk not only made it convenient to check in a little late, but also helped me out after not having quarters. She did it all with a smile and wonderful hospitality. Not to mention the breakfast i got to take with me to my room (thanks covid) and the coffee waiting the next day! A little dated, but very quiet and the rooms were clean. This place was the perfect way to start a week long adventure up the north shore!
