We drove up the North shore on a whim for a day adventure. Was able to get the last room available and at first thought the cost was a bit much for the room. When we got inside what a pleasant surprise. Room was very clean, updated and OMG bed was unbelievably comfortable. We had great stay at your place and enjoyed the town! Thank you here is the view from our room

Don’t stay here! We had an awful experience. The heat wasn’t on when we got to our room, and we called to ask for help to fix it after seeing the thermostat had no battery and after a voicemail that evening, an email, and a text message we finally got a response only after we left the next day. When we did get a response we got no apology or attempt to make amends, and the staff was extremely rude and took no responsibility for the poor service- they said the manager fell asleep and we should have known to call twice to make it seem more urgent... Worst customer service and a cold room. I’ve never left a google review before this, but I couldn’t believe the poor customer service. The room also had a cracked window and was dirty, and the key was just left in our room for us which felt unsafe (anyone could have gotten in before our arrival) and was not worth the money even if we got the heat to work. Would highly recommend looking elsewhere for a stay in beautiful Grand Marais.

I've stayed here many times over the years. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They never should have gotten rid of the diner to make those rooms, they aren't that great anyways.

The only star is for the location. I had my reservation cancelled for 3 things... 1) I gave constructive feedback that I left 3 voicemails and never received a response. 2) I questioned their cleaning processed in the midst of a pandemic. And, 3) I set the reservation for one adult and 2 children. I was charged $10 per kid per night. After placing my online reservation, I saw online that children under 12 are free And I dared to ask for a refund for my children. The owner was very defensive during our phone call stating “We are in the midst of a pandemic and the owners are doing everything and are too busy to answer phones or have someone at the front desk”. Then I got an email saying they cancelled my reservation because they are not the right fit!
