Follow the yellow brick road.. If you have made it this far, you may well be expecting the Wizard of Oz at the end of the Yellow Brick Road.. Indeed, you will find a sort of Oz here at the Trebor Mansion - a real and fantastical place to rest, or clear, your head. There truly are not all to many of a place like this - a genuine mansion restored, and then some. The place is full of interesting treasure, and great books too. The Trebor Mansion is very unique and if you are lucky enough to catch a view of the Wizard, you could have a laugh and good conversation.nnStaying here is comfortable - beds, sheets, pillows are all nice and well taken care of. There is a bar nearby and also a very cheap basic breakfast right next door, as well as the public library, gas station, laundromat, etc. Moosehead lake also nearby.

Our grown children rented the inn for a surprise party. We had the use of the whole inn, and stayed overnight. The inn has so much history! There are many antiques and artifacts in all the bedrooms and common rooms. It was a very comfortable place. I would suggest a little less items in the downstairs rooms at once...rotate them, clear some of the surfaces.

Worth a detour. Much better value than anything in price range. Old time Inn. Great clean and comfy beds. Quiet town. Food food, drinks, grocery, laundry, library, short walk down hill.nnThe inn is located at the right angle turn in Street. Through the bushes and trees.

Robert has an excellent personality, and merged it with this house. Beautiful rooms (with balconies!), nearby to nice food offerings, and definitely off the beaten path, if that appeals to you. If you're contemplating staying here, do it!

I have stayed numerous times at the Trebor Mansion Inn in Guilford, Maine. In fact, I make a point of staying there whenever I am in the area. This is a beautiful Victorian gem of an inn a bit off the main road but convenient to town. The rooms are gorgeously appointed with fine period style bedding and the beds are extremely comfortable. The proprietors stay out of your way and allow you the run of the public areas of the establishment. There are fantastic period furnishings and an eclectic mix of artifacts to keep you entertained and amused. The rates are extremely reasonable, less expensive by far than much more primitive establishments in the area. I would recommend the inn to anyone who loves to take the road less traveled.
