Sunset Motel

I have been a customer many times here when I was going through tough times in my early 20's. I believe this motel is family owned and they are all very good at making sure the customer is feeling very comfortable and always giving quality customer service.nThe rooms are very clean and well maintained. Yes the rooms are older (1950s look), but that is the charm of the place. If you need clean towels, sheets, etc. they will happily accommodate you to the best of their ability. You get free tv, free internet (at least currently through Xfinity, but even in the past when I stayed they had their own wifi for each room), a fridge, microwave, AC/Heat, furniture in the room, and other amenities. It truly has everything you need to live in or stay for a few days comfortably.nThe rates are the lowest anywhere around here and you have walking access to the Metra, stores, and restaurants.nAs long as you aren't an unreasonable or troublesome person you will find your stay quite nice!nI paid for two nights since my apartment was being remodeled, but it turned out I only need to stay one more day. They happily refunded me for a full day I had payed. Now thats exceptional service!!nThank you so much Sunset Motel!!! You are truly a vintage quality hotel and have helped me so much in the past and even today!nP.S. All the bad reviews are garbage. I truly believe those people were just unreasonable crabby people. This is coming from a 26 year old who grew up in a mansion in Lake Forest. Please if you need a place to stay in the area this a very good cheaper option.

$60 For a shoe box bed and a 2 foot wide shower. The bed was harder than the concrete walkway outside... How are you guys open? Although I did not book a room (I stumbled upon this place late at night) the room size was not terrible. There were cockroaches crawling out of the sink and from under the bed. Honestly look like a horror movie scene, and I could hear the whispering from the people in the other room.

Stayed here after getting lost in Chicago and driving many miles looking for a hotel/motel that had accommodation for the night. Stumbled across this place and we took a room. It's old, it still has wood paneling on the walls and a noisy window air conditioner. The room was clean and we had a great sleep. The next year we made the same trip from southern Ontario through Chicago and back up through Minnesota back to Ontario; we made it a point to stay over at the Sunset Inn again. Had another good stay and a wonderful sleep. We like it because of it's 1950's charm, back when times seemed to be simpler.

Good place to stay if no other hotels around have rooms.

The owner was very accommodating after a mis-communication on our date. He worked very hard with us to ensure we had a place to sleep. Thank you Barack!
