Motel 6 Cedar Rapids, IA - Airport

Overall, I’m satisfied but the resolution, but the African American male at the front desk ended up making a costly mistake that he didn’t know how to remedy. I originally cancelled my reservation prior to check in but changed my mind a few hours later and decided to keep and try to reinstate it. I called the central booking number and a nice supervisor said no prob all I had to do is call the locations front desk. To my relief the guy “reinstated” the reservation. So I flew to Iowa and got a expensive cab from the airport to the hotel ($25). Upon arrival, the front desk guy goes to check me in and says it’s $190 something dollars!?? My reservation was confirmed at about $130! I showed him the email confirmation and was baffled cause I couldn’t afford that. He basically said do you want to do one night at $67 and you can talk to the manager in the morning? Thankfully I called central reservation and the supervisor kindly reinstated it at the correct price. I think the front desk guy reinstated it for the day of price. He should’ve told me it increased. Also, the floors were super loud. No microwave or fridge in my 1 double bed room. The shower was nice. Bed was comfy. I asked for a extra blanket and thankfully he said he had an extra. Guess that’s not the case everytime. Also no breakfast whatsoever. Thank goodness they had a microwave in the lobby! It was quite at night which was great. At least in my immediate area. But it did smell like a lot of reefer throughout.

Why spend more money then you have to? Firstnnegative the the housekeeper apparently didn't open the curtains, there was an empty cup in the window. The floors are lanolin which is far easier to clean, but without the padding from carpet noise from above was much louder. The bathtub needed refinishing. Now the good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The shower had good water pressure and plenty of hot water. The carved shower curtain rod made for a roomier shower. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. We both slept well. So why spend more at a different hotel if all you need is a comfy bed a hot shower and a tv? We will definitely be back.

My stay there was great the entire staff works very hard to make sure the customer is reasonably accommodated for a traveler's style of motel. They really will keep the light on for you. (Kayla cleans the rooms)

Great stay! Amazing service. Had no microwave or mini fridge but other than that it was a great room for the price.

Walls are pretty thin but the rooms were so clean and the front desk girls were very nice and polite loved our stay will definitely come back .thanks motel 6 for leaving the light on .
