Calhoun County Jail

The Sheriff and his Correctional officer's are dog's!! Most unprofessional people in the County! All about the buddy system. Just a bunch of Good ol boys, if you know what i mean.. They'll let you die in that Jail!!

They are terrible and did not serve not protect a mentally ill man! Instead because they didn't follow protocol and place him in the holding cell in booking like they would any other person that wasn't of sound mind , they let him wander to close to a LOCKED door and then charged him with escape when he never even touched the door! Not to mention that he was issued a warrant on a traffic ticket that he before court to take care of but they gave him the wrong information! He paid the amount the employee told him to pay so that it would be taken care of but still we received a letter about an FTA warrant! We immediately took the trailer BACK up there to the courthouse that we spent 6 hours wiring before the court date only to spend over an hour in the courthouse getting sent from office to office for nothing! Nobody would even come out and look at it because one of the blinkers was not fixable but the initial ticket was for the brake lights! We called and left several messages and I even called and asked if I could set up a payment plan but they wanted it to be paid in full and we didn't have 300 dollars at the time to give them so they issued a warrant for an FTA when we did appear several times to try and have it taken care of! Now it's costing me almost 900 dollars that I had to go in debt to get right here at the holidays to get him out of jail all because people don't want to do their job correctly! I'm not letting this go because Calhoun county has ruined our family's Christmas because of their mess up and now they will be seeing our lawyer! if it takes everything that I have this charge will be dropped and they will reimburse me for all of the money plus some! I'm tired of all the crooked people here! Oh and did I mention that when I called to check on this mentally ill person they wouldn't tell me anything at all to let me know he was safe! Once again it was a lack of doing what they get PAID to do so thanks Calhoun county for a while lot of nothing but heart ache and problems. It won't let me post this unless I give one star but they don't even deserve that on this case
