Hines Mansion Bed & Breakfast

We had our first night together without our son here in the Library room. It was lovely! Appreciated the Covid cautious policies and felt comfortable and safe. Also, nothing is better for the soul than a good bath.

This is an excellent Bed and Breakfast...the finest I have had the pleasure of staying at. The rooms are delightfully decorated in the turn of the century style. The food (breakfast) and the room were just wonderful and delightful. It was quiet and romantic. I would highly recommend this gorgeous mansion to anyone for a get-away!

Amazing place. Took my wife here for our anniversary and it was a great get away in the city. We stayed in the Seaside Retreat room and it was awesome. Also a plus, the breakfasts were delicious. We will definetly have this on the list of places to stay again

This is not really a review only of the reviews. Wondering about the menu sounds like everything you serve for things I could’ve just fixed myself at home is there anything you serve that would be out of this world for a mansion? Thanks just wondering the building looks beautiful

We had an all-around terrible experience and left feeling more exhausted and stressed than when we went. I stayed here with my husband on our wedding night and the night after. We had family staying with us in our home and this was supposed to be a romantic experience where we could be alone for a bit and unwind from the craziness of the wedding. A mini-honeymoon, so to speak. It's a true saga of events, but here are the highlights: When we turned on the tub jets, chunks of brown gunk, yellow water, and hair (some of which was body hair) shot out and filled the tub. WHILE I WAS IN IT. When we called the front desk and asked for another room, they said the maintenance people would be over in 15 minutes to clean it. The owners showed up at our door an hour later, and proceeded to run a clean cycle that took about 45 minutes. They were not at all apologetic or surprised that this had happened. They said that this happens sometimes and that this tub's jets were "recently" cleaned TWO WEEKS BEFORE. I must've looked horrified because they then said that they "couldn't possibly" clean between every guest or they'd spend their entire day cleaning. They left, guaranteeing that it was clean, but the jets were still spewing gunk. I called the front desk again and they told me that I could leave and they would give me a refund for that night. It was 9pm by this time (3 hours since I'd first filled the tub), and we literally had family members staying in our beds at home so we had nowhere to go. Remember, I asked to change rooms the first time I called but she said there were none available. Miraculously, now that I was on the verge of a breakdown, there was another room available if we wanted to wait 20 minutes for them to clean it. Not really having another option, we said yes. Another 45 minutes later, they said it was ready and we moved over. After all this, I demanded a partial refund and a late checkout the following morning and the owner said yes. They refunded us $50 and gave us two $5 bath bombs. It would've meant more if the owners hadn't acted the entire time like I was being unreasonable for not wanting to bathe in other people's pubic hair. I would've showered, but there aren't showers in any of the rooms. Terrible, stressful, disgusting experience.
