Memphis-Shelby County Code Enforcement

code office has been telling us the new system was updating for weeks. During this time, any of the licensing updates can't be processed. We have customers waiting for 2+ months to pull permit. I don't understand why the different departments within the code office just can't talk to each other and get this issue resolved internally? How did we operate back then when the computers were not involved? I believe there must be something can be done to help the customers out. But obviously with Shelby County Code office , we do not.

Long story short do not call on Friday afternoon.

Applied for permit on 9/25/2020. On 9/29/2020 was told one week or longer out for a safety inspection so I can get my electric turned on. What’s a person to do without running water heat an electricity. This is total disregard for living conditions for Memphis TN residents. So I’m out of normal living conditions for over the o days and all they have to do is stop by for 10 minutes to look at home and give me the go ahead instead living in dark,no heat,&no water for 2 weeks or longer

Rude very rude people, be careful to ask all of the questions, like is there anything else I need to or fill out, how long, what's the total process, etc ... They volunteer no advice to you, nor explain the full process, they will have you running back and forth instead of telling you up front how things work and the process time period. Inconsiderate people works there, very arrogance folks work there, you have been warn.
