Deer Country Vacation Cabins

Absolutely amazing. We had four cabins, a white Christmas and one of the best weeks of my life. Completely recommend and hopefully I can be back to do it again.

The place was clean and comfortable. The lighting was a little dark -they could use a lamp or two and their WiFi didn't work. We didn't bother calling to get the WiFi fixed, so no big deal and more of an FYI. And the bathroom toilet ran the whole time. Sounds like a lot of complaints, but we did like the place and would go back. Best of all was the beautiful snowfall the first night we got there, can't get that back home.

Would never recommend this place to anyone. Arrived at 3am with a toddler and baby, the space heater and fire place were broken, there was a thermostat but it never warmed up the cabin so there was no heat. We booked a week and left as soon as we woke up after freezing all night bc we had no other option and were more than willing to pay for the part we stayed (even without heat and two freezing babies) and the owner said everything worked and refused any type of refund for the additional 5 days we would not be staying bc we had to go somewhere our children would have heat in December. Owner was very rude and unhelpful.

The cabin is great. If memory serves me correctly it was pretty clean. The layout was great for the four of us who stayed. It’s great that they are pet friendly. The fire pit is nice but can be a trick to get to when the ground is covered in ice. The parking can be a challenge if you have bigger vehicles but we were able to make it work with 2 large trucks. Overall a great cabin with great views.

When first pulling up to our cabin it looked like it needed more upkeep. The picnic table looked dilapidated and had weeds growing underneath. There were two white chairs that were turning black from mold on them. The grass was over grown and needed cut. Inside of cabin was okay. A couple of problems. When we crawled into bed that night, the sheets were still damp. We had to strip the bed and throw them in the dryer before we could go to sleep. A few light bulbs were out in the cabin and there was none in the cabin to replace them so we had to get bulbs from othere areas to replace the ones we needed to use. We didn't get to enjoy the deck very much because there was a bird's nest out there with baby birds in it and we were either getting dive bombed by the mother bird and there was just bird poop all over the deck. Also several carpenter bees boring into the wood all over the cabin. The couch in the living area was not cleaned under. We wondered why our dog was trying to get under it and found old dog food along with old M&M's, a water bottle, and a child's cup under the couch. Please be aware you have to haul away your own trash from the property. This could be a problem if your vehicle is full. I have stayed in multiple cabins in my lifetime and it's always been the courtesy of the rental agency to do this for you. AND you have to strip the beds yourself before leaving. Not sure why the cleaning crew can't do this.
