Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Shelby

Rooms are very nice and clean! A little pricey for a 2 star hotel but I’m sure it is the nicest hotel in this area. It is right beside a major highway so there can be a lot of traffic sounds.. Also the doors to the rooms are very loud as they open/close. It didn’t really bother us too much as the beds were comfy so we slept well. My only major complaint is that there was only decaf coffee in the room... what kind of monster does that?!? :)nnI really loved the shower and the Paul Mitchell products! We also enjoyed the outdoor fire pit. Overall I definitely recommend if you need to be in this particular area! Otherwise I’d probably go to Charlotte for the same price and more to do.

I'm only writing a review in regards to an unusual experience we had during our stay. I thought it might be something others should be aware of. My husband had requested a late check out. He was told by the receptionist that no one could check out late. My husband travels a lot for his job, and stays exclusively at Mariott hotels. This was the first time he had been told that no one was allowed to check out late. He told the receptionist he had never heard of that and he would like the manager's name and number. He told her he would give him a call in the morning. It was a courteous conversation. No harsh words were exchanged and everything seemed normal. We got back to the room, and my husband had already received an e-mail from the manager. In all fairness, he did try to resolve our problem, but the disturbing part, and the one that has motivated me to write this review is the fact that the manager made a comment in the e-mail saying he didn't appreciate how my husband talked to his receptionist. I'm very upset that their receptionist blatantly lied to her manager about their conversation. I don't understand the motivation for her actions. Maybe she felt threatened because he asked for the manager's name? That's actually the proper thing to do if you have an issue, so even that possible reason makes no sense. I said all that to vent, and also to make others aware that if you need to speak to a manager get that information discreetly, because at least one staff member feels threatened if you ask for a manager...to the extreme of falsely accusing a guest of being rude, and not allowing them a chance to resolve the issue for themselves.nnstated he had never heard of that and asked for the managers name.

Very clean staff is ready for anything you ask for checking in was a easy and quick enjoying are stay and would recommend to anyone

Excellent Guest Service . clean rooms. The breakfast was great. The eating area was so clean. And the breakfast attendant was extremely kind and professional. I enjoyed talking with her. I will most definitely recommend this location. I enjoyed my stay.

Lovely Hotel, I stayed in a room for over a month in this hotel and am overall very pleased with my visit. The front desk attendants are nice and helpful, and the room service comes every day. The hotel is also very clean and the outside area offers a pool, a grill and a fireplace for you to hang out. All in all it's a nice place. I'd 100% recommend this hotel to anyone.
