Exactly what we were looking for. Clean, short walk, great hospitality and most of all affordable.nGreat food.nThe room is spacious and beautifully decorated.nHighly recommend.nBeautiful town/city.nGorgeous views.

Most gracious and kind hosts ever! My wife and I just spent a weekend at doc smithers b&b, and what an experience. We have never been treated better. It felt like a weekend at grandma and grandpas house, with nothing but heartfelt service and hospitality from the hosts. Will definitely be back! Thank you. Chris and Jenni B

Amazing, can't thank Ed and Sue enough. From your afternoon tea, through the 9:00 ice cream social, and into a full morning breakfast they are incredible hosts. Doc Smithers sits at the core of Chesapeake City and is a wonderful place to stay. It is within short walking distance of fine dining at the Chesapeake Inn or traditional bay crabs at the Tap Room. Don't miss out on one of the lesser known B+B's at the tip of the eastern shore.

A family friend of my friend was denied access here because he tried to check in with his husband. They weren’t allowed to stay unless they stayed in two separate rooms. This is pathetic and disgusting. I can’t believe people are still discriminating against this. I don’t care if you’re religiously against same-sex marriage, this is disgraceful. If I could leave zero stars I would.

I’m going to copy my Facebook review here...nI cannot recommend this place highly enough. A super cute and friendly town that is only out shown by Ed and Susan, the amazing hosts at Doc Smithers B&B. Our first day there the afternoon was broken up by a wonderful time sitting on the porch with wine and a charcuterie tray prepared by our hosts. Susan's attention to detail and presentation is 2nd to none. My wife has never stayed at a B&B before, and I fear now her expectations might have been set too high, setting her up for dissapointment on our next excursion. We were pampered to an almost ridiculous degree, but Ed and Susan for all the attention they give they never cross the line to become too imposing with their hospitality. We cannot wait to return!nnAlso, you'll notice all the negative reviews are from people that have NOT stayed there. Google, your review system is broken, you should fix it.
