La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham West Monroe

We like La Quinta because they allow pets for a nominal price. This 4 year old hotel is a good looking property both inside and out. But little things which could be easily fixed by a management/ownership team working every day to provide excellent service would not otherwise allow. For instance, one of the two shower door access handle was too loose to allow anyone to use it without fear of it coming disconnected from the shower door. A repair to the shower wall that looks haphazard and likely to be an ongoing source of visual displeasure to guests and could cause water damage if it works as bad as it looks. Rust stains in the shower area that could be related to both the repair and the dysfunctional shower door. A illuminating mirror without functioning bulbs or other system leaving the fixture less than fully operational.nMore importantly, the hotel's front desk personnel admitted the new software program allowed for multiple, unrelated persons to have keyed access to the same hotel room! While in the shower, someone attempted to enter our room causing my wife to scream, dog to bark but fortunately the door lock prevented the late arriving guest from entering our room. To learn upon check out this has happened several times in the recent past shows there's a problem that hasn't been solved. The next guest may just decide to sue - and that's no reason to move this issue to the top of the list of necessary repairs.nFix these problems and we'll stay again and hope to award a higher review but for now, all of their other efforts cannot outweigh our reason to give this property a three star review.

This is a 2-star hotel. Room is fine, mostly clean. Bed was fine, but they did not provide a comforter initially and had to request one which took a while.nBathroom is not good. No water pressure, shower overflows and floods onto the main bathroom floor (maintenance said this is normal which is why they had a second drain outside the tub). In general the hotel seemed to be kept in okay shape, clean lobby and hall ways.nNote about the location, Thomas road is very busy and dangerous (due to the drivers). Had a minor accident twice during the week we stayed here.

Very conveniently located. Beautiful park area right in front of the lobby for a stroll through the nature. Ample parking space.

Room and bath clean, friendly staff. Upholstered chair was old, seat had no support. You know that feeling when you fall into the toilet because the seat was up? ud83dude02

Good price, very clean, nice staff. Pet friendly which is a bonus. Close to some good restaurants
