Days Inn by Wyndham Fort Walton Beach

I booked this hotel as a place to stay at the end of a 3-day move across the states as a temporary place while I toured some properties in the area. I had been sleeping vertical in my car for 2 nights prior, and was excited to shower and nap in a bed before going out for the evening.nnAfter checking in, I walked into my room and couldn't put my things down on any surface, nor did I want to touch anything. There were black blobs stuck to the floor, all the door frames were covered in gray and orange hand prints, there was blue and red writing and drawing in what looked like an oil based crayon, stains on the sheets, and smudges on all the walls. I went down to the front desk and another lady was there. I told her that the room was not clean enough, she wrote down my complaint in the computer, and switched over my key easy enough, but said if I wanted a refund, I would have to do it with the 3rd party company I used to book the reservation.nnI immediately went up to the room to check it out, and it was much better, but still showed signs of neglect, and after seeing the previous room, my doubts were soaring of all the issues that I couldn't see or hadn't yet noticed. I went straight out to my car and called Days Inn Corporate, as well as the company I used to book my hotel. Corporate said they were sorry and that I could either go in and get a refund right now for my stay and find another accommodation (which is difficult because it is now the day of and a Friday) or I could stay the night and a manager would have someone come in and clean the following day.nnAfter the phone call, I went into the front office and spoke to the same lady. She said I could only get a refund for 3 nights instead of all 4 and then took my keys. She was very short tempered, and not understanding at all when I asked for the key back since I was paying for the room that night. She charged me for a stay that night, and I asked for cleaning supplies so I could clean the room a little more, and she handed me two rags, a bottle of disinfectant, and some wipes. I got to do a wipe down of the room, cleaning off gunk stuck to dressers, nightstands and desks, and cleaning grime off of the doors and door frames, headboards, the sink, light switches, etc.nnAs I was washing my hands after cleaning the hotel room, there was hair in the towel. I didn't even attempt to clean the grime off the floor of the shower. I would rather sleep in my car another night than in that bed.nnThe two maintenance men were pleasant and welcomed me when I first arrived, but they are the only good thing about this place. I know I wasn't booking a fancy place, but I was really just hoping for somewhere clean. Definitely would not recommend. If you are looking for somewhere clean and relaxing, this is not it. Not even worth paying a slightly better price. Even if it isn't up to standards, they will still charge you. Not worth any of it.

Well I know the GM Nation...really nice guy that cares. He's just recently married...congrats!!! Beautiful wife! But he has gone out of his way since I've moved to Florida to make me feel welcome and and that I have a place to lay my heaf as long as hr has a room open

The hotel needed some fixing for sure it looked old and run down, stairs were falling apart and floors were cracked. The rooms were disgusting, smelled bad there was still soap and toothpaste crusted on the counter the sheets were wrinkled like if they had just been slept in and there was hair and stains all over them. When I told the girl at the front desk the issues with the room she was rude did not apologize and gave me a key to another room and said “see if that one is good enough for you”. The next room was just as bad as the first. She did not offer for the room to be cleaned or for the sheets to be changed. Place was cheap but definitely for a reason spend the extra $20 or $30 and stay literally anywhere else because this place was a nightmare!

Well, the place needs quite a lot of fixing. One which I feel is very important is the clerk's control of attitude. I feel also, if you are going to go into this business, then make like YOU would want your room to be....be more careful on person, not registered as clients, that walk around the rooms.

Showed up to check in and the king bed rooms are on the inaccessible back side of the hotel. There were some characters around the back smoking pot as well. All in all the fastest stay at a hotel at 15 min. Cancelled that, never going back!
