We enjoyed this stay as it was relaxing. I loved Alex the front desk clerk. She was so beautiful and kind. She always went over and beyond to assist in any way. She is a very sweet person. I didn’t interact with much of the other staff although when I did they were awesome as well. The hotel offers free usage of bikes, chairs has a bar and it was very peaceful getaway. It is only a two minute walk from the beach with many things to do close. I definitely recommend staying here if your looking to get away.
I know there have been bad reviews posted and to be honest, this is an old hotel; however, the staff in the front office truly want you to be comfortable, satisfied with your stay, and want you to return in the future. Everyone of them went out of their way to help us. We had an issue with our room not being completely clean when we arrived but housekeeping came immediately to clean it for us. Our hot water was luke warm but other family members had sufficient hot water. The hotel is in the process of renovating so some rooms are still waiting to be updated. The updated rooms look nice.nOur family was in town for a wedding so we had a range of ages. The kids loved the volleyball courts and the free use of bicycles that they could take around the town.nIf you are looking for a fancy hotel with spa like amenities, this is not the place for you. But if you are looking for an affordable no frills hotel with close proximity to the beach then this might be a good possibility for you.nThe staff in the front office is definitely an asset for this hotel.
You can tell it’s an older hotel, but recently renovated to be more modern! The beds were nice and comfy. The free breakfast was more of grab n go type bags, but convenient. They had free 4hr bike rentals and free daily beach wagons and chairs which was an awesome surprise. The free rentals and being walking distance from the beach made this hidden gem worth it. The bathrooms could use an update, but other than that we enjoyed our short stay and would love to come back again.
Would give negative stars if I could! I have stayed here a few times before and didn’t complain about small issues due to reasonable pricing. However this stay has been worse than any hotel experience I have ever had. The room rates were over double the price and the customer service was the worst yet. I checked in to be told the 3rd party site I used for my booking sent through the wrong reservation and I was given the wrong room. The girls at the front desk did not even apologize for the inconvenience, just said it was not their problem and if I wanted to cancel my stay I’d still be charged the first night and almost laughed at me for being upset. They also said their was no way to fix the problem and I could talk to the manager about it Monday (booking started Friday). I asked if I would be refunded at all since the room I booked was listed as more expensive than the one given when originally booked, the front desk said they’re the same price. The third party website I used club1hotels.com was recommended to me through the hotel during my previous stay, it’s one of the “perks” of their $30 a night resort fee. When I contacted the site, they went back and forth with me about how it was the hotels fault for OVERBOOKING their rooms and their was nothing they could do about it either. They also said I was lucky because the room I was wrongfully given was actually more expensive and I wasn’t charged the difference. They were able to contact the hotel manager, that I was told was unavailable, and offered early cancellation but I still had to pay the first night... the lack of customer service from both ends of this stay has been unbearable.nThe room itself is a double with 2 full size beds, I requested one king, the water pressure is nonexistent, the TV is burned out in about 12 spots, and to top it off my room has no smoke detector!nAt about 5am Sunday morning, I was woken up by doors slamming in the wind, about 4 maintenance doors near our room were left open all day and night and would not stay closed unless locked. I tried to call the front desk about it, but there is no one working at the hotel between the hours of 1am-7am! I was lucky to run into a maintenance man on my way to the closed lobby who told me he would take care of it after he put on coffee... I can’t believe at a hotel claiming to be fully booked on a spring break weekend there is no one here to help you in the middle of the night, seems very unsafe to me. Also the doors left open all day, someone could easily have gotten hurt in more than one of those maintenance only areas. This location is great because we have family in the area but this will be our last stay here, please train your staff better on customer service skills and think about having someone on site 24/7 for public safety.nAlso, consider waving resort fee when weather is terrible. There were tornado warnings during our stay and nonstop rain, not really able to use pool, beach chairs, or bikes during that kind of weather, it also made the outdoor sports area unusable.
Crazy charging $75 non refundable pet fee per night!!! Are you kidding me?
