Beautiful Venue; Terrible Place for a Wedding. In June of 2019 my fiancé and I booked our wedding for September at The Silver Springs Lodge. I have nothing negative to say about the building itself; it’s beautiful and we were both looking forward to starting our lives with a ceremony there. However, for a place boasting its accommodations and value as a venue for weddings we had a completely different experience. In August I had two family emergencies that required our full attention. Understanding their no-refund policy, but hoping for some bend, as they’re so “accommodating,” I called as soon as possible to explain our situation. I tried to work with them so that both parties would still benefit. But I was met with complete refusal and hostility. They refused to move the date, or to give us back our $3150 deposit. At one point we were told we WOULD get a refund (I believe by the owner, or some other higher level management, I cant recall exactly) but we were in fact charged for our TOTAL canceled wedding in the amount of $6330. Again, I completely understand their policy. But considering their own boasting, my situation (which was completely out of my control) and my willingness to work with them, and the general stress that comes with planning a wedding I feel their complete lack of accommodation and empathy was abhorrent. Silver Springs Lodge did nothing, provided nothing but refusals and hostility and still made off with the better part of 10k from a struggling young couple who were mourning the loss of an uncle and trying to take care of a brother in the ICU. Silver Springs Lodge turned our dream wedding into a nightmare at a very dark point in our lives. They value your money. Not you. So book here if so inclined, but please keep in mind that they will do absolutely nothing to ease your wedding stress or to be accommodating to your needs.

I am very frustrated with the manager and owner. The home looks beautiful and we were excited to celebrate a Fall Company Retreat. Unfortunately, one of the employees tested positive for Covid-19 two days before the scheduled Retreat which exposed 6 people in our group (one being the owner of the company). We contacted the manager and owner via phone and message. We were told if VRBO would refund the money, they would, or let us reschedule the date. (The house went us as "available" within an hour.) Now two weeks later, I have a refund from VRBO and the owner/manager is refusing to reschedule or give our money back! I had spent a ton of time planning this event and would have loved to go. However, the really irritating thing is IF we had known they would not be good with their word, the rest of the group would have used the house (half our group). I'm very frustrated with Darlene as she has never been helpful. Plus, I emailed the owner Dave Nelson and he doesn't have his facts straight as he said we already moved the date once. (Which we have never done.) IF they are good with their promise I will update my review and remove the 1 star. I understand Covid is a difficult time for everyone. I want them to be good with their word which is what they promised when we canceled.

I decided to have my wedding at Silver Springs Lodge after another venue fell through. It ended up being a blessing in disguise because Silver Springs was absolutely wonderful. We had the property booked for three nights and had all of our out of town wedding guests stay at the lodge. This made it super convenient and easy for a lot of our guests. I worked with property managers Justin, and then Matt and both were extremely helpful and accommodating. On the day of the wedding we realized we didn't have enough round tables and Matt was able to bring more over right away. We had countless compliments on the location and beauty of the property. We held both the ceremony and reception at the lodge. The ceremony was beautiful, overlooking the on-site pond and we utilized both inside and outside of the lodge (it was a chilly evening) for the reception. The next day our close friends and family stuck around and we were able to take advantage of the swimming pool and hot tub. We couldn't say enough great things about our experience. Would 100% recommend. We hope to return someday for a family reunion!

We had our wedding here in January 2019 and it was perfect. All of our relatives don't live in state so it was nice to have a place big enough where everyone could sleep. We catered ourselves, so the kitchen was perfect and had all we needed. The man who managed the property, Justin, was so helpful. My mom was asking him a lot of questions when we did our walk through before renting and he was so patient and was very relaxed. I loved that they didn't have any hidden fees, they were honest and straight up with us. We looked at another local lodge to rent but they were going to charge us an extra 2K a day with hidden fees. Silver Springs did not do this and I thank them for it. I'm just looking for an excuse to have another family gathering here so we can rent it again. I will defiantly recommend this to anyone.
