the Spa at Zermatt

Absolute worst and dirtiest spa I've worked at! They never washed their blankets until I started and insisted they do, which spreads disease and they could have bed bugs. They never once washed the linens under the bottom sheet which gets touched with a dirty bolster and when they adjust the table height and then touch the client every massage. The Timpanogos room never got mopped and has salt scrub all over the floor, and is over 85 degrees during couples massage often, and you can hear people slamming their weights in the gym right outside the door because half the spa is upstairs by a gym and you have to walk naked in your robe past people working out and down an elevator filled with kids going to the pool, which is very awkward. Also, in room 1 you can hear kids yelling in the pool downstairs during your massage, and in room 6 there is a big generator that is so loud under the floor that the room vibrates sometimes. Michelle Myclynn was the spa director and I tried to tell her about a couple of the major issues and she interrupted me and told me not to bother her until a month later because she knew there were lots of issues but 2 months later we still only had 3 bottles of essential oils and 2 were rancid smelling and weird, for all the therapists to use. We completely ran out of oil and lotion so I had to find body lotion in a random closet and use that. No one cleaned the floors so I slid all over because they were covered in oil and grime that I couldn't get off because they had been dirty so long. They don't have enough bolsters or stools for all the rooms and many of them are losing the vinyl covering which means they are absorbing oils and germs and can't be sanitized or wiped off and pieces of vinyl fall all over the floor and table after each use. They are the most chaotic organization I have worked for. HR does little to resolve issues and just defends their directors and the GM doesn't respond to phone calls and it takes weeks to get even a few minutes to talk to him, and does not resolve issues. Michelle just started again 3 months ago and writes up a final notice to anyone who is smart enough to see and point out the issues there because she feels threatened that her lack of attention to the needs of the spa will be brought to light. She made the entire LMT staff quit or fired the rest when she was the spa director here years ago. The girls there give weak light massages and one of them sat on a stool 90% of the massage and just worked on your shoulders. They cut your time short and the basic massage is only 50 minutes anyways, but in order to have time to get you up and down the elevator, change sheets, and get the next guest, and have time to use the restroom and drink a protein shake (since some work up to 12 hours with no break, reducing the quality) they frequently only give you 45 minutes. They serve left over buffet food to the associates that is often gross and often gave my associates and I food poisoning. The sheets were rancid and when I sent the blankets to be washed they came back still greasy and dirty. I wonder if to save costs if they didn't even wash them and just sent them back folded, so I bought my own soap and poured it on them to force them to have to wash the blue soap off them. Much of their equipment is broken, like towel warmers, electric table height adjusters, massage tables, lamps, etc. The CD music in the Timp room is not spa music (fast, has a beat or weird lyrics). They started offering discounts to get people in, but LMTs now also take a cut in their pay due to the discount.

We reserved a couples massage package for new year's day early in December. Three weeks later I got a text with a confirmation time two hours before the over we scheduled. When I called to tell them the time was wrong they said that they moved is because they didn't schedule anyone to come in at the original time. We had another obligation at the earlier time, and all she could say was, "well, one of you could come in. We are all booked because of the holiday"! Yes, I know that, that's why I booked way in advance. I feel like the treatment would have been just as unprofessional and cursory as their reception procedures. Glad we didn't spend a bunch on that level of incompetence!

Fantastic spa! Couples massage are a must!

Massages are amazing. Facials are out of this world. Staff is phenomenal!
