A1 Gypsy Villa Resort

The cabins are pretty rustic, but that was expected from the pictures on the website. We decided on the Island, primarily because it is supposed to have a recreation room with games, a basketball court, tennis court, playground, and beach... to entertain our children. I thought the indoor rec room especially would be great for the kids if the weather wasn't great, which it wasn't for most of our stay. It was rainy and/or windy for much of our stay, but unfortunately the Rec Room was boarded up. They failed to mention that to us when we booked of course, no mention of it being closed down on their website either. The tennis, basketball and volleyball courts are also rundown, and not maintained... and the tiny little patch of sand is not a beach, it's literally smaller than your beach towel.nnAlso, they don't allow you to have a campfire at your site (there's only a community pit off the water, that's shared with the entire island), they failed to mention that to us also, or on the website. IMO, having a campfire at your cabin is kind of a big deal, so that was very disappointing. The pontoon has an old 30 hp motor that you can putz around the lakes on, but certainly not anything exciting for young kids, and forget about pulling a tube or anything with it.. you're basically just crossing your fingers that it doesn't breakdown and gets you back.nnThese people are very misleading about what they have to offer, and are basically charging for amenities they don't have or offer anymore.

Great access to the Eagle river chain. Clean cabins, equipped with TV, A/C. Full Kitchen is stocked with cookware and silverware. Attentive staff. Minutes to downtown Eagle River. We had a great time. Weve already booked for next year and I have another group interested in a 2nd trip. This place is the real deal for whatever sport you're into. ✌

Rustic island retreat. Great for fishing and families. Island or mainland accomodations. Not luxury but rustic..water, trees and wildlife rule here.
