We had a two day getaway at the Kickapoo Valley Ranch and it was, in a word, wonderful! Cowboy Joe was wonderful to work with, easy to get a hold of, and tremendously reassuring in these uncertain times. Everything about our stay was lovely but some of our favorite highlights were: the cookies, oh the cookies, I wanted one for every meal and snack - I think Cowboy Dave gets the credit for those. The bedding, crisp, clean, and white, it was easy to lay down and relax knowing that the bedding was clean, safe, and comfy. And the details, from everything being meticulously clean to the individual packages of delicious local coffee beans, Cowboy Joe thought of everything!
We were very happy with our stay. Clean and cozy cabin with a nice collection of amenities. The baked goods were great. We loved the views and doing some star gazing. I would recommend this to almost anyone.
My sisters and I stayed last year and were delighted with the cabin. It was so relaxing and wonderfully decorated. The cookies were to die for. Fabulous autumn getaway and worth every penny. Our cabin was warm and cozy; ponies kicked up their hooves right below our porch; our hosts were helpful and friendly; and the view of the valley unparalleled.
A flawlessly run sanctuarynnJust three hours west of Milwaukee is this amazing place. Surrounded by nature and silence, KVR is perfect to unwind, disconnect and recharge.nMy cabin had everything I needed. It was nicely furnished, the AC worked well, and water pressure in the shower was great. I could've just camped out on the porch and take in the view for my whole stay.nnIf you make a grocery stop before you get there, you'll be all set and have no reason to leave unless exploring is part of your plan. I stopped at Viroqua Co-op which was on the way and about 30 minutes out.nnJoe is a fabulous host. Gracious and super welcoming.nnAnd don't get me started on the cookies. All I'm going to say is that you want to pre-order a bunch to take back home.nnThank you Joe for a wonderful stay! I'll be back.
