My extended family has been coming to the North Star Resort for decades! Simple, clean and on beautiful Lake Chetec. Home away from home to unplug, unwind and enjoy nature.
My family has come to this resort for as long as I can remember. Great little place for a vacation, fishing, hunting and shopping! Rice Lake and Hayward just 30 - 40 minutes away, Stout's Island is a lovely, relaxing spot for a nice dinner. There's even a few golf courses to enjoy (we typically go to Tagalong). The Chit Chat bar is within walking distance with great chicken wings and what we call Nuts & Bolts. Friendly locals and all around great place to unplug and unwind.
Have been coming to North Star for 13 years. The cabins are very cute and very clean. The cabin rental price is a great value and the fishing has always been very good for panfish. The walleye fishing has been cyclical, from great to below average based I believe on stocking and over harvest. I would highly recommend North Star for beginners or seasoned fisherman.
Stayed in the sleeping room instead of bringing up our rv this time and it worked out great we would definitely do that again, very cute room and very clean, and very friendly, and helpful owners .
Mike and Janet are great hosts and make you feel like family
