Great service and quality products. Dropped my bike off for a brake pad replacement without knowing when it would be done or when parts would come in, (I had let them ware down way too much) but they had the pads there and called me back within an hour!

Excellent service! Had Colin ship a bike sight-unseen to Ohio. Flawless! Good communication, good vibe. Ten stars.

I just purchased my first new bike at Broken Spoke Bike Studio in Two Rivers Wisconsin, home of the ice cream sundae. I found the Two Rivers location as I was riding the Rawley Point/Mariner Bike Trail from Point Beach State Park to Manitowoc. Jason, the young man who runs the shop was extremely polite, professional, and helpful in my selection. The shop is a very small, intimate place with character across the street from the McDonald's that is located just before point where Washington St. curves and continues on as Highway 42 along the Lake toward Manitowoc. It's a great spot and Jason knows what bikers are looking for at this location. I have primarily noticed comfort and leisure riders looking for great exercise like myself passing by.nnI ride between 60 and 80 miles a week during the warmer months (cross country skis are made for the other months) primarily on gravel and blacktop or concrete trails. I have always owned a $100 used bike, and at 64 decided it was time I invest in something nicer, as the old fashion gear shift has been wearing on my weary wrist and thumb bones, muscles and tendons. I was disappointed to find out that the powers that be have changed the feature I was looking for, a full handle grip gear shift, to one that operates by grabbing a short collar on the interior of the handle grip with your thumb and index finger. Those are unfortunately the problem areas on my right hand. However, the bike I chose with Jason's assistance, the Diamondback Edgewood made by Raleigh, turns out to be a great choice for my tricky codger body parts. The Shimano E-Z-Shifters work very well. It is a dual system on each side requiring the rider to pull a the lever with the forefinger and push one with the thumb to change gears. The forefinger click is effortless, while the thumb requires a bit more pressure, but not to much for my arthritic digit. The only thing that doesn't make sense to me is that while on the right side you pull for higher gears and push for lower, it is the opposite on the left side. Evidently Raleigh anticipated old guys like myself would be buying the Diamondback and figured we needed to keep our minds sharp.nnThe Edgewood has the other essential features I was seeking, front and under seat suspension, an adjustable handlebar system, and, while saddle that comes with the bike is comfortable, but I swapped it out for an even wider one for my old butt to rest peacefully on as I bump over rough terrain. It's heat-treated/butted aluminum frame and double alloy rims are durable enough for my type of riding while light weigh enough for me to add my makeshift dog carrier (a Blackburn TR-1 trail rack with a plastic milk crate) to the back for my 16 lb. cockapoo, Lucy to ride along with me. And a feature that I didn't anticipate but absolutely love is the set of dual density ergo-shaped handle grips that force you to keep your wrists in a much better position. Top it off with Tektro linear brakes that work smoothly and easily, and I have the perfect bike for my requirements. At $330+tax I rode out the door and onto the trail after I signed the receipt without having to pay for shipping and handling from Amazon, and then put the thing together myself. There are not enough swear words in my vocabulary that would have gotten me through that task.nnThanks to Jason and Broken Spoke Bike Studio for putting my ancient bottom on the best ride I have owned. I highly recommend this shop and Jason's skills and assistance!
