I would HIGHLY recommend experiencing this island via the mopeds. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating despite multiple misleading reviews. They also have bike rentals when available. 10/10 would ride again.

We noticed a lot of reviews stated the staff was rude. In our experience, they were pleasant but certainly made some snarky comments. They are very strict and you have to pass a practice course on the mopeds. Be aware, online it says they open at 10:30 AM, however we arrived around 10:00 AM and they rented us scooters. Also to note, Washington Island is very rural with minimal water views. Most of our day was spent riding through rural roads along farms. Good experience, but definitely not what I expected when renting a moped on an island.

Great equipment! The down side is having to deal with 2 crabby women. We almost walked away because of being yelled but we really wanted to explore via mopeds for the day. I appreciated being trained/tested since I never drove one before & I'm very open to criticism, but the 1 gal was truly rude.nnWhen we returned them, they charged an additional $14 for using a credit card. Would have been nice to know.

Wonderful experience! The ladies there were SO sweet and covid friendly, cleaning mopeds after every use. I would definitely recommend going here if you visit the island, the island is bigger than you think so the mopeds are a great way to get around!

Supper nice people! Not sure what all the other reviews were about. I will come back next time I'm on the island.
