Governors Mansion Inn and Cafe

This place is a true gem in Madison. We stayed there for one night and we came back with the regret that we should have stayed more. Only if we knew that the view of the lake from our balcony will be so magnificent. We wake up and there is the million dollar view of the lake with the greenery around is right in front our eyes through the window. So peaceful, so soothing.nIt is over 150 years old building, so has a rich history and culture in every corner of it. Bathrooms and rooms are so nicely upgraded, renovated, that we felt very posh. Not only that, each and everything was spot clean.nThis is about the place I just talked about. Now I will emphasize about customer care. The owner and management really went ups and beyond for us. First of all, we made the mistake of booking it for 2 days prior date than we actually needed it for through hotel.com. So on the actual date when we made the call to let them know we are coming in 15 minutes and then we heard that our booking is for 2 days ago. So they do not have that room available anymore and credit card is already charged for that night. They counted it as no show as we did not call or say anything. When we explained them the situation that we must have made this silly mistake, they offered to cooperate. With the same charge they arranged another room for us fulfilling our demand of a balcony with the room. I mean they easily could have told us to deal it with Hotel.com. But they actually helped out so well in the situation and saved us from a lot of extra stress taking. Not only this, they even came to visit us once we settled in and told us about the places we can see and go by. If this is not a warm welcome, then I don't know what is. they made us feel like home. Thank you guys. We will definitely come back for longer time and stay there. It was one of the most pleasant relaxing stay ever.

Excellent bed and breakfast. Found it on air bnb. Very cool place, reasonably priced. Walking distance to the capitol square.

Clean and beautiful.

Interesting historic spot to stay, out of the hubbub. No active managers on duty, except for a caretaker, who was pleasant. Low key and fun stay.
