Sugar Loaf Motel

Room was fine, needed more than 1 towel for 3 day stay. Owner/management kept coming to the door to check on why the temperature was up in room. Couldn't have bathroom window open, keep bathroom door open as only vent for a/c was in the bathroom and hot baths/showers frowned upon as costs money to cool room. Was also told could have NO VISITORS during stay.

Rented here for 45 days owner was very nice and helpful rooms were clean and orderly.

Tv didn’t work, very cold, thermostat didn’t work , fridge didn’t work, It stinks so bad in room 28 unreal lady was very friendly but wow :( 73.00 for one night for this place never again!

This past weekend, Aug 9 and 10, with check out on Sunday morning of the 11th. I stayed there with my mom and Aunt. The room was freezingncold when we walked into plus it smelled. We left the door open for a little while. The room had a screen door. I tried to adjust the thermostatnbut it didn't help. The room had 2 double beds, a desk, dresser, refrigerator, and microwave. They did give us an extra towel and washclothnwhen we arrived since they were three of us. So, imagine our surprise when we got to room and discovered that only gave us one towel apiece.nThe refrigerator was open and unplugged, not a big issue, just plugged it. By Sunday morning though, our drinks were frozen solid.nI normally unpack my bag when I stay somewhere. I didn't here. Nor did my mom and my aunt didn't want me to unpack hers either.nThe room just didn't feel right. The bathroom was blue. The pull for the plunger for the sink, pull up for shower. There was no hair dryer. Thankngoodness I brought mine. The door to the bathroom was only 24 inches wide. My aunt couldn't go into the bathroom with her walker because it didn'tnfit through the door. We did talk to the front desk clerk the next evening when we returned from our activities about the room being cold and not beingncleaned. She claims we didn't want it serviced. Really? We don't remember her even asking us. She came to the room with me and put newspaper overnone vent and a towel over the other vent. I had asked for extra blankets and she brought us those. We did not feel comfortable with what she did with the ventsnso we removed the paper and towel. Just used the extra blankets. I got up to go to the bathroom Friday night and when I was getting back in bed there was ancigarette burn in the quilt. I laughed to myself and wondered how old it was and if they were the same ones that were there when I was a little girl.nWhen it is time for our next family reunion again in 2 years, we will definitely be staying somewhere else.

Although it's an older Motel, the owner is kind and accommodating. What you get for the price, is fair. I doubt anyone would have any real complaints about the place.
