Richard is an amazing host. He is very knowledgeable about the history of the home and town of Winona. The house is gorgeous! We stayed with another couple in the two largest suites in the house, but found ourselves lounging on the beautiful screened in porch most of the morning. The 5 course breakfast was beyond any other breakfast experience I’ve ever had, truly delightful! It does take a while to get through the entire experience, but relax, it’s worth every minute! The town itself left a little to be desired, however, the scenery was breathtaking. Will definitely stay there again.
Man.. what a great experience! Richard was a true delight. He waited up for us to arrive past check in time. Upon arrival, he gave us a quick orientation of the house. There was wine available all night as well as tea for us to enjoy whenever we liked. Richard also delivered an Irish cream night cap and chocolates. The house is truly beautiful, a patio space as well as a wonderful study filled with books to sit and read. It was very relaxing. The room was very nice, quiet, clean, and comfortable beds. Breakfast was served at 9am with coffee beforehand. It was nice getting coffee enjoying it on the porch. Richard served us a several course breakfast: parfait, pumpkin bread, orange juice, and an Italian egg bake. It was all DELICIOUS! Richard finished breakfast with an ice cream sundae. This stay is every worth bit the drive and more than worth the price.. highly recommend treating yourself to this stay. It was a great night to unplug.
An absolutely fine establishment, run by a host who really cares about his guests. Richard makes you feel welcome from the moment you arrive until the end of your visit. The house is amazing. Highly recommend this place!
Loved the wine with great dinner recommendations from Richard. Irish Cream and chocolate for a night cap. Amazing place to stay! We played cribbage on front porch with coffee and tea. So looking forward to breakfast! The Judge Wilson Suite so perfect for my girlfriend and I to sightsee and enjoy Wabasha and Winona. Huge space with kitchen! Individual entrance too!
Very good food, Richard the innkeeper is very knowledgeable about the history of the town and the house and is great to recommend places to eat and other activities
