Greunke's First Street Inn & Dining

My review would be very different if the pandemic wasn’t going on. I used to love going here on vacation- the breakfast was great and the inside was unique. The staff were always friendly and overall I couldn’t complain about the prices either.nnNow my review has changed. I recently went here in August and was excited to dine here because of the good previous experiences I have had. When my friend and I arrived, I had to use the bathroom. Because of the pandemic, they were only doing outside seating meaning the bathroom inside was off limits. They had two porta potties near the restaurant so I decided to use them. I opened the first door and to my surprise it was almost overflowing. I would have taken pictures but it was too disgusting to post on here. (Oh, also, the second one was the same exact way). I am not too picky when it comes to bathrooms but that was unusable.nnAfter the bathroom experience, we decided to find a seat outside. The two waiters that were serving people looked like they did not want to be there at all. I totally understand wearing masks and working is very hard to adapt to but when I am at work I try my best to still give good customer service to the guests that come in- even wearing a mask for hours at a time. We finally got our food and needless to say, it was a mistake ordering lunch. The only good thing was the mashed potatoes but that’s not very impressive. It wouldn’t have been so bad had there not have been a bunch of flies surrounding us because of the nearby porta potties. The lunch was not worth the price I had to pay for it and I would probably not get lunch there again.nnOverall, don’t come here during the mask mandate. I really hope once they do inside seating they step it up because it would be a bummer for this place to keep losing business. I will come back once this mandate and outside seating is over. But for now, I would rather not deal with unusable porta potties, waiters who hate their jobs, flies swarming me, and an overpriced and unremarkable lunch.

This unassuming little corner restaurant is also an Inn, but we only grabbed breakfast/lunch. There are plenty of picnic tables and a few porta-potties. They automatically add 20% to the bill, which I am not a fan of, but they are upfront about it. The food was amazing though! I gladly paid that 20%. My wife said her chicken sandwich was the best she ever had, and I had a Grunkie cheese omelet, which was killer. Something about the cheese in northern WI seems tastier. I added sausage which was a smart move because it's the larger links and they were very tasty. Drinks are cans of pop, so no refills. Would definitely go back.

First time here. What a cute little spot. Didn't get a chance to go in the building. Chose to sit outside and eat in the beautiful weather. Food was good! Service was ok. I would go again.

During Covid they are carry out only. We sat out on the patio and drink tap beer while we waited for our very delicious broasted chicken to be ready. We are a group of five guys and everyone raved at how great the roasted chicken was. Went really well with the bells two hearted ale that was on tap. Really great service.

Personal friend of our family. Has long owned this business. Strives to build a good friendly customer relationship. Many ofnTowns people go there! Happy!
