We spent a wonderful Labor Day weekend at the Village Inn. The entire experience was enjoyable, from our second floor suite and its old world charm, to the friendly and informative help from our host, Paul. Sitting outside on the spacious front porch was a great way to enjoy the afternoon in beautiful Woodstock. We can't give enough praise to our chef, Luis, whose delicious breakfasts started out each day perfectly. Social distancing wasn't a problem during our stay, as safety was always a first priority. We'd definitely recommend this lovely inn to our friends and family.

We stayed here on an impromptu overnight trip to Woodstock and could not be more pleased. The Inn is beautifully decorated, clean as can be and has the nicest staff who were more than ready to help with anything we needed. Breakfast was AMAZING I’ve never had such delicious waffles. Thanks guys!!!

Paul and Louis great host, 5 stars across the board place, location, garden area, room#3, bed, bathroom. Morning Breakfast! . Extraordinaire host, on top of all details to make it a very comfortable stay.

HIGHLY enjoyed our stay, especially during COVID. Both my husband and myself felt safe within his Inn. Everything was cleaned and felt sanitary. The breakfast was absolutely AMAZING. Being that we are from Louisiana, we enjoyed the Cafe du Monde brand of coffee in the mornings :) Really wonderful time.. thanks!

My wife and I stumbled on the Village Inn of Woodstock while looking on the internet for a place to get away and relax for our 30th anniversary. Their website looked like a place that this could happen, so we took the chance and booked a suite room for 2 nights.nnWere we ever glad we did.nnUpon arriving, we were met by Paul, the owner. He was extremely pleasant and helpful. He filled us in on the Inns' policies and procedures, and helped us plan our day. He even made reservations for us for both nights at restaurants that he highly recommended. He informed us of a 4:30 PM happy hour at their bar. After settling in and going out on the town for a little, we made it back to enjoy a complimentary beverage from their bar during happy hour. There, we met Louis, who doubles as a bartender and cook. He was also an extremely pleasant person.nnWhile sitting in the bar area, which was near the dining area, you could easily see the love Paul and Louis have for the Inn. The rooms, including the guest rooms, are impeccably decorated, with exquisite details given to each room. While talking with both Paul and Louis, you can easily understand his passion to make the experience for his guests one you will not forget. Little things, such as only having seating for two parties every half hour for breakfast, so that the proper attention can be paid to them, are well thought out and appreciated.nnThe first restaurant Paul recommended was the Melaza Bistro. The food was magnificent and the presentation was spectacular. We were so happy with it, that we felt that would be the perfect food for our anniversary dinner. However, on our anniversary day, the weather was extremely hot and humid, and with the COVID crisis, my wife wasn't too comfortable with eating inside the restaurant. Paul suggested we get the food to go, and eat back at the Inn. He set up the dining area for us and we had 'dinner for two' at the Inn on our anniversary. Paul was on hand to tend to anything we needed for the meal. It was such a highlight for us. His dedication to helping us out solidified our decision as to why this was the best Inn for us! He was so excited that we were so happy. In retrospect, our anniversary dinner couldn't have been any better. We had a beautiful window view overlooking the garden that Paul has meticulously groomed over the years. He has a Midwest background and has worked in businesses in the past that allow him to express amazing creativity in his garden.nnThe only regret I have is that I wasn't a bigger eater! Louis' breakfasts are spectacular! Everything is fresh, creative and delicious. The three course breakfast includes a fruit cup that was delicious. It was followed by a 'grain of the day'. We had homemade strawberry muffins the first day, and then homemade banana bread the second day. My wife had Louis' signature Belgian Waffle the first day and I had his famous pancakes the second day. There were also egg choices as well. All choices came with sausage or bacon. Louis also makes an 'english muffin' type bread with is ridiculously delicious :) The orange juice is fresh squeezed, and the coffee is from New Orleans! Everything was delicious!nnMuch of this review demonstrates our stay at the Inn. However, to me, as an educator who constantly teaches soft skills such as communication, dedication to a task, and reliability, the real gem is the love that Paul and Louis have for the Inn. Listening to the wonderful stories about the Inn, hearing all the details Paul identifies as 'regular practice' for the guests and being treated with such care are what made the two days extremely special for us. We can see why they have a lot of repeat customers!!nnIf you're looking for an Inn that exemplifies why Woodstock is 'America's most quintessential village' you must go to the Village Inn at Woodstock. You won't regret it!
