The Fan House distinguishes what autumn in Vermont represents. The Town of Barnard on shimmering Silver Lake is tucked far enough from anything urban to offer the simplicity of New England life in a bygone era. The 4-poster was far and away the most sleep-inducing bed we’ve slept in. The eclectic ornaments, books and artwork are exquisite. The food was embellished by Vermont’s heavenly local fare and lovingly prepared. And I can’t forget our innkeeper’s staunch canine, Chappy, who kept us safe from wild animals and informed us when the delivery people drove up.
Authentic charm and warmth abounds! Don't miss this gem when touring VT.
