What a charming place! A real personalized experience. The staff was overwhelmingly nice and accommodating. The breakfast was fantastic and the room had so much charm. I would definitely return.
I stayed at the Whetstone Inn for three days in mid February, and enjoyed it very much. I found it to be a large, comfortable, fascinating old inn- formerly a stagecoach inn dating to the 18th century, set on a hillside, complete with warm and welcoming inn-keeper, lots of books, a piano and other musical instruments in the living room, old wavy glass window panes, cozy comforters, and a pleasant, welcoming vibe throughout. Our corner bedroom, with three beds, was HUGE with a beautiful view of the neighboring church and en suite bathroom about the size of a closet (in fact it had been a closet, we deduced, but it was handy to have it ). The room was bright, warm, and well furnished with comfortable arm chairs, standing lamps, a desk, and an old sewing table - looking for a scissors I opened a drawer and found dozens of what looked like antique stays tucked away. There are no televisions around (see lots of books, piano, etc), but the wifi seemed excellent - we streamed Netflix and could attend to emails with no issue, and also got good cell phone reception. The breakfasts, included in the price of the stay, were outstanding and a great way to start the day - fresh farm eggs, good coffee, and even gluten-free blueberry pancakes for my GF husband. I hope to be back when the weather warms up to experience the Whetstone Inn again.
If everyone could come and stay at the Whetstone for a night, the world would be a better place!
Beautiful setting, and amazing food. Close to many local activities and sites.
I'm biased... My mom runs it. But it's lovely!
