I really, really love this Holiday Inn. I know, it's just a holiday inn, but the people there are super nice! I have to travel to Brattleboro for work every other week, so I'm there a few times a month. They make it so easy for me to book with my work's corporate rate, they remember me, they offer an actual cooked breakfast even in these pandemic times. ALSO their pool is still open, and you reserve it just for yourself for an hour. They also have this super cool fire pit outside. Plus all the basics are checked: clean rooms, nice amenities, everyone is safe about masks, etc. I'd stay here even if I wasn't on business. Have to say I'm someone who rarely offers reviews, but I felt compelled.
I stayed here many years ago and it was ok. Breakfast selection at that time was mediocre at best but I decided to give them another try.nnI booked my reservation a few weeks ago. Checked our state page for travel restrictions. They call me 6 hours before check in to tell me that I can't stay there due to VT Restrictions and have to cancel my reservation when I'm already up in the area, had to spend half the day trying to find a new place to stay. They could have called me the day before? a few days before? anything besides 6 hours before check-in. Really horrible. They couldn't even help me find another hotel to stay in over the border. Totally ruined my weekend. Part of me thinks they wanted to use my room to get a higher rate since I booked so far in advance and got a really good rate. Everything else was booked up in the 2 hours surrounding this hotel and the next best thing I could find was more than three times what I paid. I checked the hotel later that day they had 2 rooms left and were charging almost 1.5 times what I would have paid staying there.nnDon't think I would travel back here or use this hotel again. Rethinking my membership to IHG Hotels all together as I called their 800 number and they were no help.nn**Double check before you travel to VT on your own for rules.
Cleans and friendly staff. The Fire pit was a nice addition. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
Clean room and easy access. Late check in was no problem.
Nice hotel. The building was clean and in good shape. Price was good as well for a two-star hotel. Didn't have a chance to eat breakfast. The staff was always there and ready to help. The only negative things we experienced was small TV in the room probably 35in and very soft beds. We both had back pain next morning because of how soft or old mattress were.
